Job summary

Inspirisys is seeking a Senior PL/SQL Technical Lead to design, develop and lead Oracle PL/SQL solutions for the Government Business Solutions banking product suite.

You will drive performance optimization, integration, and migration efforts across banking environments, mentoring a team and coordinating with architects, DBAs and implementation teams.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of Oracle SQL/PLSQL development experience.
• Strong hands-on experience in complex PL/SQL development and performance tuning.

Job description

1. Role Summary

Senior PL/SQL Technical Lead responsible for designing, developing and leading Oracle PL/SQL solutions for the Government Business Solutions (GBS) banking product suite. The role involves customization, enhancement, integration, performance optimization and production support for GBS modules deployed across banking environments.

2. Key Responsibilities

PL/SQL Development & GBS Solution Design

Design and develop complex Oracle SQL/PLSQL solutions for GBS modules, product enhancements and bank-specific customizations.

Develop and review Packages, Procedures, Functions, Triggers, Views and database utilities.

Translate GBS functional requirements into scalable and efficient technical solutions.

Assess the impact of new requirements, customizations and change requests on existing GBS components.

Ensure adherence to coding, database and development standards.

Performance & Production Support

Analyze and optimize SQL/PLSQL performance for high-volume transaction processing.

Troubleshoot production issues across GBS modules and identify root causes.

Use AWR, ASH, ADDM, execution plans and SQL Trace for performance analysis.

Drive permanent fixes for recurring performance and production issues.

Technical Leadership

Lead PL/SQL development activities across GBS modules.

Review technical designs and code for enhancements and customizations.

Mentor developers and ensure adherence to development standards.

Work closely with GBS architects, functional teams, DBAs and implementation teams.

Integration, Release & Migration

Support integration of GBS modules with CBS and other regulatory portals.

Support SIT, UAT and Production releases.

Develop database scripts for deployments, upgrades, migrations and bank-specific implementations.

Ensure data integrity and performance during migration and release activities.

3. Core Technical Skills

Oracle & PL/SQL

Oracle Database 19c; Advanced SQL and PL/SQL.

Packages, Procedures, Functions, Triggers, Views and Materialized Views.

Collections, Bulk Processing, Dynamic SQL and Exception Handling.

Database design and data modelling.

Performance & Database

SQL/PLSQL tuning, Execution Plans, AWR, ASH, ADDM and SQL Trace.

Indexing, Partitioning and Query Optimization.

Oracle RAC / Data Guard, ASM / RMAN and OEM working knowledge.

Linux and Shell Scripting.

Development & DevOps

Git, Jenkins / CI-CD and database deployment/version control.

Liquibase / Flyway – preferred.

4. Required Experience

10+ years of Oracle SQL/PLSQL development experience.

Strong hands-on experience in complex PL/SQL development and performance tuning.

Experience leading development teams and conducting technical, design and code reviews.

Experience working on banking product development, customization or implementation projects.

Experience with high-volume OLTP and mission-critical banking applications.

Experience in Government Business Applications or similar banking product platforms is highly desirable.

Good understanding of banking application architecture, database design and application integration.

5. Banking & Domain Experience

5+ years of Banking / Financial Services application experience preferred.

Experience with Core Banking platforms such as Finacle, TCS BaNCS, Oracle FLEXCUBE or similar is desirable.

Experience in Government Banking applications is highly desirable.

Understanding of applications with stringent availability, security and regulatory requirements.

6. Preferred / Nice-to-Have Skills

Oracle 23ai, Exadata, GoldenGate and Oracle Advanced Security / TDE.

REST API / Spring Boot / Microservices integration.

Kubernetes / OpenShift and cloud database environments.

Grafana, Prometheus, ELK or similar observability tools.

7. Leadership & Soft Skills

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to troubleshoot complex issues under production pressure.

Strong communication, stakeholder management and team leadership skills.

Ability to mentor developers and drive design, code quality and documentation standards.

8. Education & Certification

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering or equivalent.

Oracle OCP certification preferred; Oracle Cloud certification is an added advantage.

9. Ideal Candidate Profile

A hands-on Senior PL/SQL Technical Lead with strong Oracle SQL/PLSQL expertise and experience in banking product development. The candidate should be capable of leading PL/SQL development for GBS modules, designing and implementing bank-specific enhancements and customizations, optimizing performance, resolving complex production issues and working closely with functional, architecture and implementation teams.
