Job summary

Thepridecircle is seeking an experienced Oracle PL/SQL Developer to architect, develop, and maintain robust database components for high-volume enterprise environments. You will optimize SQL, implement advanced features, and ensure data governance and security while collaborating with software architects and developers.

Required 8–12 years of hands‑on Oracle PL/SQL experience, proficiency in performance tuning, and familiarity with CI/CD pipelines.

Qualifications

  • 8–12 years of hands‑on software engineering experience specializing in Oracle PL/SQL development.
  • Deep expertise in bulk processing (FORALL, BULK COLLECT), dynamic SQL, REF CURSORS, and exception management.
  • Strong ability to write complex joins, subqueries, analytical functions, and data modeling concepts.
  • Understanding of cost‑based optimizer, execution plans, and partitioning strategies.
  • Experience with Unix/Linux scripting, scheduling tools, and CI/CD for databases.
  • Oracle PL/SQL Developer Certification (OCP) is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Architect, develop, and maintain Oracle PL/SQL components and database objects.
  • Identify and fix performance bottlenecks using explain plans, AWR, ASH reports.
  • Collaborate with architects and developers to design scalable data schemas and pipelines.
  • Enforce data governance, ACID compliance, and robust security standards.
  • Lead root-cause analysis for production incidents and latency issues; implement long-term fixes.
  • Establish coding standards, review code, and mentor junior developers.

Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

  • Architect, develop, and maintain robust Oracle PL/SQL components, including stored procedures, packages, functions, analytical queries, custom database objects, and triggers.
  • Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks using diagnostic tools (EXPLAIN PLAN, TKPROF, AWR, ASH reports). Optimize complex SQL, indexing strategies, and memory management for low-latency, high-volume processing.
  • Partner with software architects and application developers to design relational database schemas, data pipelines, and transactional logic capable of scaling across enterprise environments.
  • Enforce strict data governance, robust error-handling protocols, ACID transaction compliance, and database security standards to safeguard critical data assets.
  • Lead root-cause analysis for database-level production incidents, deadlocks, and latency issues; implement long-term fixes to ensure high system availability.
  • Establish PL/SQL coding standards, conduct comprehensive code reviews, and provide technical guidance to junior and mid-level developers.

Required Technical Skills & Qualifications:

  • 8–12 years of hands‑on software engineering experience specializing in Oracle PL/SQL development.
  • Expert command of advanced features, including bulk processing (FORALL, BULK COLLECT), dynamic SQL, REF CURSORS, collection types, pipelined functions, and exception management.
  • Mastery of writing complex joins, subqueries, set operators, hierarchical queries, and analytical/window functions on large-scale databases.
  • Deep understanding of cost‑based optimizer (CBO) behavior, execution plan interpretation, partitioning (range, list, hash), and hint usage.
  • Proven expertise in relational data modeling, ER diagramming, normal forms, and transaction isolation levels.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related quantitative field.
  • Experience with Unix/Linux shell scripting and automated job schedulers (Control‑M, Autosys, or Cron).
  • Familiarity with database CI/CD pipelines and version control tools (Git, Liquibase, Flyway).
  • Understanding of ETL architectures, data warehousing principles, or cloud database migration strategies (AWS RDS, Oracle, OCI).
  • Oracle PL/SQL Developer Certified Professional (OCP) certification.
Qualification

Minimum of 8 years experience. Qualified candidates for this role will possess the following skills:
