Job summary

Oracle is seeking an experienced Oracle DBA/Database Engineer to manage production Oracle databases, including Exadata, RAC/ASM, and RMAN environments. The role covers performance tuning, backup/recovery, installations, upgrades, migrations, and on‑call incidents.

You will coordinate with customers, support teams, and engineering to resolve complex issues and ensure high availability, with shifts and weekend work as required.

Qualifications

• 6–15 years of experience as an Oracle DBA or Database Engineer in production environments.
• Strong experience in Oracle Database administration and troubleshooting.
• Hands‑on experience with Oracle Exadata architecture and administration.
• Strong knowledge of Oracle RAC and ASM.
• Experience in Oracle database performance tuning and troubleshooting.
• Hands‑on experience with Data Guard, including Physical Standby, Active Data Guard, and Data Guard Broker.
• Strong RMAN backup, restore, and recovery experience, including critical recovery scenarios.
• Experience with database installation, upgrades, migration, and patching.
• Ability to troubleshoot complex issues related to performance, availability, RAC/ASM, backup and recovery, and patching.
• Ability to handle critical production incidents under pressure.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Customer‑focused service and support mindset.
• Willingness to work shifts and weekends when required.

Responsibilities

• Manage, monitor, and maintain Oracle databases in production environments.
• Support Oracle Exadata, RAC, ASM, Data Guard, and RMAN environments.
• Investigate and resolve database performance, availability, backup, recovery, and patching issues.
• Perform database installation, upgrades, migration, and patching activities.
• Handle critical production incidents and provide timely updates to customers and internal teams.
• Perform backup and recovery activities, including complex recovery situations.
• Monitor database health and recommend improvements for performance, availability, and reliability.
• Work with customers, support teams, and engineering teams to resolve technical issues.
• Maintain technical documentation, operational procedures, and incident reports.
• Participate in shift, weekend, and on‑call support as needed.
