Job summary

Oracle is seeking an experienced DBA/Exadata Engineer for Mumbai operations. You will administer Oracle databases on Exadata and RAC/ASM, troubleshoot performance and availability, and drive patching and upgrades across production systems.

You will manage Data Guard and RMAN backups, handle complex recovery scenarios, and work with global engineering teams. Strong communication and customer-facing skills are essential, with a willingness to work shifts as required.

Qualifications

• 6-10+ years hands-on Oracle DBA experience in production
• Strong Oracle DB administration and troubleshooting
• Exadata architecture and administration expertise
• Advanced RAC and ASM experience
• Performance tuning and troubleshooting skills
• Data Guard including Active Data Guard and DG Broker
• RMAN backup, restore and recovery with complex scenarios
• DB installation, upgrades, migrations and patching
• Production incident diagnosis and resolution under pressure
• Excellent written and verbal communication
• Customer-facing and service mindset
• Willingness to work shifts and weekends

Responsibilities

• Administer and support Oracle databases on Exadata and RAC/ASM environments
• Troubleshoot database performance, availability, backup/recovery, Data Guard, and infrastructure-related issues
• Perform database upgrades, migrations, installations and patching
• Manage and troubleshoot RMAN backup/recovery and Data Guard environments
• Perform performance analysis and recommend preventive/proactive improvements
• Handle critical production incidents and provide timely technical resolution
• Collaborate with customers and global engineering/support teams across time zones
• Maintain high standards of availability, reliability, customer satisfaction and engineering quality

Oracle DBA / Exadata Engineer

Location: Mumbai

Experience

• 6-10+ years** of hands-on experience as an Oracle DBA / Database Engineer supporting enterprise and mission-critical production environments.

Must-Have Skills

• Strong hands-on **Oracle Database Administration & Troubleshooting**
• Strong experience with **Oracle Exadata architecture and administration**
• Advanced hands-on experience with **Oracle RAC and ASM**
• Strong **Oracle Database Performance Tuning** and troubleshooting skills
• Hands-on experience with **Data Guard**, including:
• Physical Standby
• Active Data Guard
• Data Guard Broker
• Strong **RMAN Backup, Restore & Recovery** experience, including complex recovery scenarios
• Experience with **Database Installation, Upgrades, Migrations & Patching**
• Strong production troubleshooting skills across **performance, availability, RAC/ASM, backup/recovery, and patching**
• Ability to diagnose and resolve **complex/critical production incidents** under pressure
• Excellent **written and verbal communication skills**
• Strong customer-facing and **service/support mindset**
• Willingness to work in **shifts and weekends**, when required

Good-to-Have Skills

• **Oracle GoldenGate** replication and troubleshooting
• **ZDLRA (Zero Data Loss Recovery Appliance)** administration/support

• Experience supporting large-scale, highly available, business-critical Oracle environments
• Oracle/Exadata certifications or relevant advanced technical certifications
