Job summary

Oracle Bengaluru is seeking an experienced Oracle DBA to manage production databases, Exadata, RAC/ASM, and Data Guard. You will monitor performance, implement backups with RMAN, and coordinate with CSS and engineering teams to ensure high availability.

The ideal candidate has 6–15 years of hands-on DBA experience, strong troubleshooting skills, and the ability to handle critical incidents, on-call shifts, and weekend support.

Qualifications

• 6-15 years of experience as an Oracle DBA or Database Engineer in production environments.
• Strong experience in Oracle Database administration and troubleshooting.
• Hands-on experience with Oracle Exadata architecture and administration.
• Strong knowledge of Oracle RAC and ASM.
• Experience in Oracle database performance tuning and troubleshooting.
• Hands-on experience with Data Guard, including Physical Standby, Active Data Guard, and Data Guard Broker.
• Strong RMAN backup, restore, and recovery experience, including critical recovery scenarios.
• Experience with database installation, upgrades, migration, and patching.
• Ability to troubleshoot complex issues related to performance, availability, RAC/ASM, backup and recovery, and patching.
• Ability to handle critical production incidents under pressure.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Customer-focused service and support mindset.
• Willingness to work shifts and weekends when required.
• Oracle GoldenGate replication and troubleshooting (Nice to have).
• ZDLRA administration or support (Nice to have).
• Logical Data Guard experience (Nice to have).
• Experience resolving Exadata-specific performance or patching issues (Nice to have).
• Experience supporting large, highly available Oracle database environments (Nice to have).
• Oracle Database, Exadata, or other relevant technical certifications (Nice to have).

Responsibilities

• Manage, monitor, and maintain Oracle databases in production environments.
• Support Oracle Exadata, RAC, ASM, Data Guard, and RMAN environments.
• Investigate and resolve database performance, availability, backup, recovery, and patching issues.
• Perform database installation, upgrades, migration, and patching activities.
• Handle critical production incidents and provide timely updates to customers and internal teams.
• Perform backup and recovery activities, including complex recovery situations.
• Monitor database health and recommend improvements for performance, availability, and reliability.
• Work with customers, support teams, and engineering teams to resolve technical issues.
• Maintain technical documentation, operational procedures, and incident reports.
• Participate in shift, weekend, and on-call support as needed.
