Job summary

ReOrbit is seeking a Senior Operations Engineer to lead satellite operations, ensuring readiness and coordinating with customers and internal teams to deliver reliable satellite services.

You will drive cross‑mission readiness, oversee anomaly resolution, and contribute to system concepts, while collaborating with spacecraft, ground segment, and software teams. Fluency in English is required for effective communication across stakeholders.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in aerospace engineering or a related technical discipline.
  • Proven experience in spacecraft operations engineering, especially with GEO satellites.
  • Hands-on experience with mission control systems and operations preparation tools.
  • Experience with dynamic satellite simulators.
  • Demonstrated experience in satellite performance monitoring, anomaly analysis and resolution.
  • Familiarity with procedure change control and configuration management processes.
  • Experience with satellite ground segment facilities (operations and/or development).
  • Strong understanding of spacecraft operations workflows across mission phases.
  • Ability to contribute to system specifications and operational concept definition.
  • Knowledge of On-Board Control Procedures (OBCPs) and Packet Utilization Standard (PUS).
  • Good understanding of space-to-ground interfaces and flight operations documentation.
  • Strong ownership and coordination capability in operational environments.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting.
  • Excellent communication skills with customers and cross-functional teams.
  • Fluency in English is mandatory.

  • Review space-to-ground interface specifications and flight operations manuals.
  • Support SVTs, rehearsals and training for operations personnel.
  • Assist in implementation of scalable tools and processes for operations.

Job description

ReOrbit is looking for a Senior Operations Engineer to lead satellite operations activities. As our Senior Operations Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring operational readiness, driving execution across mission phases, and coordinating closely with both customers and internal teams to deliver reliable and efficient satellite operations.

Responsibilities
  • Lead the commissioning and routine operations of current and upcoming satellites, providing technical direction, operational decision-making, and oversight across all mission phases
  • Act as the primary interface for customers on satellite operations topics, ensuring alignment of expectations and delivery of operational commitments
  • Coordinate across internal teams (spacecraft, payload, ground segment, and software) to ensure seamless integration and execution of operations
  • Support platform and payload subsystems, satellite simulator, on-board software management, and ground segment operational interfaces
  • Participate in the definition, acceptance, and lifecycle management of satellite simulators, including development and procurement follow-up and maintenance
  • Develop, maintain, and continuously improve operational documentation and flight procedures
  • Perform trending and performance analysis of platform and payload, supporting regular and event-driven operations reviews (e.g. eclipses, manoeuvres, decontamination)
  • Lead anomaly investigation and resolution, including prioritisation, root-cause analysis, stakeholder communication, and definition of corrective and preventive actions
  • Participate in satellite on-call support rotation
  • Prepare systems, processes, and teams for new satellite missions, ensuring operational readiness
  • Contribute to the definition and evolution of system and satellite operational concepts, ensuring alignment across spacecraft design, ground segment, and operations
  • Review space-to-ground interface specifications and flight operations manuals
  • Contribute to Operational System Validation activities, including SVTs, rehearsals, and training of operations personnel prior to commissioning
  • Support the definition and implementation of tools, processes, and infrastructure for scalable satellite operations
Skills And Requirements
  • University degree in aerospace engineering or a relevant technical discipline
  • Proven experience in spacecraft operations engineering, particularly with GEO satellites
  • Hands-on experience with mission control systems and operations preparation tools
