Job summary

ReOrbit seeks a senior flight software engineer to lead development and integration of flight software, coordinating ground systems and mission-operations interfaces. You will manage mission-system integration across flight, ground, and operations, and interpret software architecture documents and ICDs.

The role requires 5+ years in flight software or mission systems, strong V&V, and cybersecurity knowledge for space systems. Bengaluru-based, onsite position with exposure to GEO missions.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, CS, or related field; Master’s preferred.
  • 5+ years in flight software, mission systems, or ground-segment development.
  • Strong knowledge of software lifecycle, V&V, and GEO mission architectures.
  • Experience coordinating multi-disciplinary engineering and mission-operations teams.
  • Understanding of real-time embedded software and onboard data handling.
  • Experience with simulation frameworks, digital twins, and automated testing.
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity and secure data handling for space systems.

    • Data rates and bandwidth
    • Encryption and cybersecurity
    • Edge‑computing and onboard processing logic
Skills and Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field; Master’s degree is an advantage.
  • 5+ years of experience in flight software, mission systems, or ground‑segment development within a space or aerospace organization.
  • Strong understanding of software lifecycle processes, V&V methodologies, and mission‑system architectures for GEO missions.
  • Experience coordinating multi‑disciplinary engineering and mission‑operations team
  • Understanding of real‑time embedded software and onboard data‑handling systems.
  • Experience with simulation frameworks, digital twins, and automated testing.
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity and secure data‑handling for space systems.
