Job summary

Johnson Electric Group is seeking a Senior Officer - Material Planning in Chennai, India, to ensure uninterrupted production by planning and controlling material availability, including import materials. You will run MRP, manage inventory, and coordinate with procurement, suppliers, and logistics to avoid line stoppages.

Responsibilities include maintaining BOM accuracy, lead times, safety stock, and MOQ; tracking shortages and delays; ensuring import documentation and customs clearance; and

Qualifications

• Experience planning materials using MRP in a manufacturing environment.
• Familiarity with ERP systems and data integrity for BOMs, lead times and safety stock.

Responsibilities

• Plan material requirements from production schedules and forecasts.
• Run MRP and generate purchase requisitions on time.
• Monitor material availability to avoid line stoppages.
• Maintain optimal inventory levels for RM, WIP, FG.
• Execute MRP in ERP systems and ensure master data accuracy.
• Track planning exceptions such as shortages and delays.
• Monitor shipment status and ensure timely customs clearance.
• Coordinate for import documentation (invoice, packing list, BOE, COO).
• Follow up on port clearance and inland transport to plant.
• Ensure compliance with import regulations and audits.
• Support supplier performance and on-time delivery with procurement.
