Job summary

Tata Consultancy Services is seeking a Senior Network Architect in Chennai with 10–12 years of IT experience focusing on secure, scalable network design across LAN, WAN, and cloud environments.

You will deploy hardware and software, oversee upgrades, implement security measures, and develop documentation and disaster recovery plans while aligning with business goals and collaborating with IT teams.

Qualifications

• 10–12 years of IT experience with a focus on networking
• Deep knowledge of TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, MPLS, DNS and DHCP
• Experience with Cisco/Juniper/Arista equipment and security appliances
• Familiarity with Google Cloud, OCI and container networking (Kubernetes)
• Certifications such as CCNP, AWS Advanced Networking, CISSP preferred

Responsibilities

• Creating high-level blueprints and models for secure, scalable network architecture (LAN, WAN, VPN, cloud)
• Deploying network hardware (routers, switches, firewalls) and software, including overseeing large-scale upgrades
• Implementing security measures (firewalls, IDS) and testing for bottlenecks, failures, or security breaches
• Analyzing current network performance and traffic to forecast future growth and capacity needs
• Developing detailed network documentation, diagrams, and disaster recovery plans
• Presenting plans to management and collaborating with IT teams to align with business goals

• Typically, 10 to 12 years of professional experience in IT, often starting as a network engineer or administrator
• Deep knowledge of TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, MPLS, DNS, and DHCP
• Proficiency with Cisco, Juniper, or Arista equipment, along with firewalls and SDN technologies
• Familiarity with Google Cloud, OCI and container networking (e.g., Kubernetes)
• Often required or preferred (e.g., CCNP, AWS Certified Advanced Networking, CISSP)
• Strategic thinking, leadership, strong communication, and problem-solving abilities
