Job summary

Morae seeks a senior network engineer to own and advance its global data centre network infrastructure. This hands-on role ensures stability, security, and performance across six data centers supporting a 24/7 production platform, with a focus on modernization.

You will lead troubleshooting, collaborate with security and IT teams, and mentor junior engineers while driving automation via Python, PowerShell or Ansible.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of enterprise Cisco networking experience.
• Hands-on experience with Cisco Nexus 9000/9200/8300, NX-OS, and IOS-XE.
• Strong troubleshooting across L2/L3, VLANs, routing, switching, and high-availability environments.

Job description

We are currently seeking a senior network engineer to take ownership of Morae's global data centre network infrastructure. This is a hands-on role responsible for maintaining the stability, security, and performance of our enterprise networking environment across six global data centres supporting a 24/7/365 production platform. The successful candidate will play a key role in our Data Centre Modernization Program while providing expert troubleshooting across switching, routing, firewalls, WAN connectivity, and network security.

Responsibilities

• Own and support enterprise network infrastructure across six global data centers, including Cisco switching, routing, firewalls, and WAN connectivity.
• Lead troubleshooting of complex network outages, performance issues, and connectivity incidents with minimal reliance on vendor support.
• Perform root cause analysis and produce post-incident documentation and remediation plans.
• Monitor network health using enterprise monitoring tools, including SNMP, Syslog, Cisco FMC, and related platforms.
• Lead technical delivery of the Data Centre Modernization Programme, deploying Cisco Nexus 9300, Catalyst 9200, and Catalyst 8300 platforms.
• Develop migration, cutover, rollback, and validation plans for infrastructure refresh projects.
• Manage Cisco Firepower HA firewalls, firewall policies, NAT, VPNs, DMZs, and security configurations.
• Support Azure vWAN, IPsec VPNs, Cisco Meraki environments, and office connectivity.
• Maintain accurate network documentation, topology diagrams, IP addressing, and configuration backups.
• Follow ITIL change management processes and participate in CAB reviews.
• Work closely with infrastructure, storage, VMware, and security teams on enterprise initiatives.
• Identify opportunities for automation using Python, PowerShell, or Ansible.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to network architecture, capacity planning, and continuous improvement.
• Participate in an on-call rota supporting a 24/7 production environment.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of enterprise Cisco networking experience within multi-site data center environments.
• Strong hands-on experience with Cisco Nexus 9000, Catalyst 9200, Catalyst 8300, NX-OS, and IOS-XE.
• Expert troubleshooting across Layer 2/3 networking, VLANs, spanning tree, routing, switching, and high-availability environments.
• Strong experience with Cisco Firepower, Cisco FMC, firewall policies, VPNs, NAT, ACLs, and DMZ architecture.
• Solid experience with BGP, OSPF, static routing, and enterprise WAN technologies.
• Experience supporting Azure vWAN, IPsec VPNs, Cisco Meraki, and hybrid networking.
• Experience working within ISO 27001 and/or SOC 2 environments.
• Strong documentation, communication, and problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently under pressure.
• Experience with CLI-based administration and scripting using Python or PowerShell.
• CCNP Enterprise (or equivalent practical experience at CCNP level) with strong CCNA-level knowledge.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with Cisco ACI, SD-WAN, MPLS, IPv6, Cisco Umbrella, and Ansible.
• Exposure to VMware vSphere, enterprise storage platforms, and infrastructure technologies.
• Experience with Terraform, REST APIs, or Infrastructure-as-Code.
• CCIE Enterprise Infrastructure, Cisco DevNet, Cisco Firepower Specialist, Azure AZ-700, or ITIL v4 certifications.
• Experience mentoring engineers and supporting global enterprise environments.
