Job summary

Prodapt Solutions Private Limited seeks an experienced Network Data Centre Engineer to design, deploy, and support enterprise and data centre networking infrastructure. You will implement Cisco Routing & Switching on Catalyst and Nexus platforms, configure VMware NSX networking, including DFW, and deploy enterprise wireless solutions.

The role requires 7+ years in Cisco routing/switching, 4+ years in enterprise wireless, and 5+ years in NSX/DFW and enterprise firewalls.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 7 years of expert-level experience in Cisco Routing & Switching.
  • Hands-on with Cisco Catalyst and Nexus Data Centre Switches.
  • Minimum 4 years in Enterprise Wireless technologies.
  • Minimum 5 years implementing VMware NSX and NSX DFW.
  • Experience deploying enterprise network infrastructure, firewalls and load balancers.
  • Understanding of DNS and SD-WAN architectures.
  • Strong troubleshooting across LAN/WAN, wireless, and DC environments.
  • Experience with ITIL-based change management processes.

Responsibilities

  • Design, deploy, and support enterprise and data centre network infrastructure.
  • Install, configure, and migrate Cisco Routing & Switching solutions (Catalyst/Nexus).
  • Configure VMware NSX networking and Distributed Firewall.
  • Deploy and maintain enterprise wireless network solutions.
  • Configure and troubleshoot network firewalls and security policies.
  • Support deployments with hardware/software upgrades, migrations, cutovers.
  • Coordinate with Security, Infrastructure, Cloud, and PMO teams on projects.
  • Create and maintain implementation docs, runbooks, and configurations.
  • Ensure deployments meet governance and operational standards.

Job description

Overview

Seeking an experienced Network Data Centre (DC) Engineer. The successful candidate will have extensive hands-on experience in enterprise and data centre networking, with strong expertise in Cisco Routing & Switching, Catalyst and Nexus platforms. The role will involve implementing, configuring, and supporting network infrastructure across complex enterprise environments while contributing to data centre modernization initiatives.

The ideal candidate will also possess implementation experience in wireless technologies, VMware NSX, Distributed Firewall (DFW), and network firewalls, along with a conceptual understanding of DNS and SD-WAN architectures.

Responsibilities
  • Design, deploy, implement, and support enterprise and data centre network infrastructure.
  • Perform installation, configuration, and migration of Cisco Routing & Switching solutions using Catalyst and Nexus platforms.
  • Implement and support VMware NSX networking, including Distributed Firewall (DFW) configurations.
  • Deploy and maintain enterprise wireless network solutions.
  • Configure and troubleshoot network firewalls and assist with security policy implementation.
  • Support network deployment activities, including hardware installation, software upgrades, migrations, and cutovers.
  • Work with load balancers during deployment and implementation activities.
  • Perform network validation, testing, and post-implementation support to ensure service stability.
  • Troubleshoot complex network issues across LAN, WAN, wireless, and data centre environments.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Security, Infrastructure, Cloud, and Project Management to deliver network projects.
  • Produce and maintain implementation documentation, configuration records, and operational runbooks.
  • Participate in change management processes and ensure all implementations follow customer standards and best practices.
  • Provide technical guidance during project execution and support knowledge transfer activities where required.
  • Ensure network deployments comply with operational, security, and governance standards.
Mandatory Skills & Experience
  • Minimum 7 years of expert-level experience in Cisco Routing & Switching.
  • Strong hands-on expertise with:
    • Cisco Catalyst Switches
    • Cisco Nexus Data Centre Switches
  • Minimum 4 years of hands-on implementation experience in Enterprise Wireless technologies.
  • Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience implementing:
    • VMware NSX
    • NSX Distributed Firewall (DFW)
    • Enterprise Firewall solutions
  • Proven experience in deployment and implementation of enterprise network infrastructure.
  • Good working knowledge of network firewalls and load balancers.
  • Conceptual understanding of:
    • DNS
    • SD-WAN
  • Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills across enterprise network technologies.
  • Experience supporting network migrations, upgrades, and transformation programmes.
  • Excellent understanding of networking protocols including:
    • TCP/IP
    • VLANs
    • STP
    • OSPF
    • BGP
    • VRRP/HSRP
  • Experience working within ITIL-based change management processes.
Desirable Skills
  • Experience with enterprise data centre environments.
  • Knowledge of network automation tools and scripting (Python/Ansible) is advantageous.
  • Exposure to cloud networking (Azure/AWS) would be beneficial.
  • Cisco and VMware certifications (CCNP/CCIE, VCP-NV, NSX) are desirable.
  • Experience working in customer-facing project delivery environments.
