Job summary

Prodapt is seeking an experienced Network Data Centre (DC) Engineer to design, deploy, and support enterprise and data centre networking across complex environments, with emphasis on Cisco Routing & Switching, Catalyst and Nexus platforms.

The role covers VMware NSX, DFW, firewalls, DNS and SD‑WAN concepts, plus collaboration with Security, Infrastructure, Cloud and PM teams to deliver reliable network projects and robust runbooks.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 7 years of expert-level Cisco Routing & Switching experience.
  • Hands-on with Cisco Catalyst and Nexus data centre switches.
  • Minimum 4 years in Enterprise Wireless implementations.
  • 5+ years of NSX, DFW and enterprise firewall implementations.
  • Experience deploying enterprise network infrastructure and migrations.

Responsibilities

  • Design, deploy, implement, and support enterprise and data centre network infrastructure.
  • Install, configure, and migrate Cisco Routing & Switching solutions using Catalyst and Nexus platforms.
  • Implement and support VMware NSX networking including Distributed Firewall configurations.
  • Deploy and maintain enterprise wireless network solutions.
  • Configure and troubleshoot network firewalls and assist with security policy implementation.
  • Support network deployment activities, including hardware installation, software upgrades, migrations, and cutovers.
  • Work with load balancers during deployment and implementation activities.
  • Perform network validation, testing, and post-implementation support to ensure service stability.
  • Troubleshoot complex network issues across LAN, WAN, wireless, and data centre environments.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver network projects and produce runbooks.
  • Participate in change management and ensure implementations follow standards.

Job description

Overview

Seeking an experienced Network Data Centre (DC) Engineer. The successful candidate will have extensive hands‑on experience in enterprise and data centre networking, with strong expertise in Cisco Routing & Switching, Catalyst and Nexus platforms. The role will involve implementing, configuring, and supporting network infrastructure across complex enterprise environments while contributing to data centre modernization initiatives.

The ideal candidate will also possess implementation experience in wireless technologies, VMware NSX, Distributed Firewall (DFW), and network firewalls, along with a conceptual understanding of DNS and SD‑WAN architectures.

Responsibilities
  • Design, deploy, implement, and support enterprise and data centre network infrastructure.

  • Provide technical guidance during project execution and support knowledge transfer activities where required.
  • Ensure network deployments comply with operational, security, and governance standards.
Requirements
Mandatory Skills & Experience
  • Minimum 7 years of expert‑level experience in Cisco Routing & Switching.
  • Strong hands‑on expertise with:
    • Cisco Catalyst Switches
    • Cisco Nexus Data Centre Switches
  • Minimum 4 years of hands‑on implementation experience in Enterprise Wireless technologies.
  • Minimum 5 years of hands‑on experience implementing:
    • VMware NSX
    • NSX Distributed Firewall (DFW)
    • Enterprise Firewall solutions
  • Proven experience in deployment and implementation of enterprise network infrastructure.
  • Good working knowledge of network firewalls and load balancers.
  • Conceptual understanding of:
    • DNS
    • SD‑WAN
  • Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills across enterprise network technologies.
  • Experience supporting network migrations, upgrades, and transformation programmes.
  • Excellent understanding of networking protocols including:
    • TCP/IP
    • VLANs
    • STP
    • OSPF
    • BGP
    • VRRP/HSRP
  • Experience working within ITIL‑based change management processes.
Desirable Skills
  • Experience with enterprise data centre environments.
  • Knowledge of network automation tools and scripting (Python/Ansible) is advantageous.
  • Exposure to cloud networking (Azure/AWS) would be beneficial.
  • Cisco and VMware certifications (CCNP/CCIE, VCP‑NV, NSX) are desirable.
  • Experience working in customer‑facing project delivery environments.
