Job summary

William O Neil Co is seeking a Senior Microsoft Fabric Architect with 15+ years of experience in data architecture, Azure, ETL, and data warehousing to design scalable enterprise data solutions using Microsoft Fabric and Azure.

You will define the overall data architecture and technical roadmap, lead Data Engineers, collaborate with business and technology stakeholders, and ensure secure, cost‑effective, high‑performing data platforms and pipelines.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of experience in data architecture or related roles.
• Hands-on experience with Microsoft Fabric and Azure data services.
• Strong knowledge of data warehousing, modelling and DB concepts.
• Experience designing data lakes, lakehouses and cloud platforms.
• Leadership, stakeholder management and strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Define the overall data architecture and technical roadmap using Microsoft Fabric and Azure.
• Design scalable and secure data platforms, data warehouses and data lakes.
• Develop architecture for ETL, ELT and enterprise data pipelines.
• Work with Fabric components like OneLake, Lakehouse, Data Warehouse, Data Factory and pipelines.
• Design data integration solutions using Azure services.
• Establish standards for data modelling, governance, security and performance.
• Review existing architecture and recommend improvements.
• Guide Data Engineers and development teams on best practices.
• Collaborate with business, product and technical stakeholders to understand requirements.
• Prepare architecture documents, technical designs and implementation guidelines.
• Ensure solutions are scalable, reliable, secure and cost-effective.

Key Responsibilities

• Define the overall data architecture and technical roadmap using Microsoft Fabric and Azure.
• Design scalable and secure data platforms, data warehouses, and data lakes.
• Develop architecture for ETL, ELT, and enterprise data pipelines.
• Work with Microsoft Fabric components such as OneLake, Lakehouse, Data Warehouse, Data Factory, and pipelines.
• Design data integration solutions using Azure services.

• Strong experience with ETL/ELT processes and data pipelines.
• Excellent knowledge of data warehousing, data modelling, and database concepts.
• Experience designing data lakes, lakehouses, and cloud-based data platforms.
• Knowledge of data governance, security, performance tuning, and cost optimization.
• Strong leadership, stakeholder-management, and communication skills.

Preferred Skills

• Microsoft Fabric or Azure certifications.
• Experience with Power BI and enterprise analytics solutions.
• Knowledge of Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure Data Lake Storage, and Databricks.
• Experience in large-scale cloud migration and modernization projects.
• Experience working in Agile and enterprise environments.

Education

Bachelors or master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
