Job summary

WSP in India is seeking a Senior Engineer to join our Bangalore design team. You will lead project design work for MEP/Building Services, while coordinating with the UK team to ensure design intent and quality. Mentoring junior engineers is a key part of this role.

The position requires strong experience in HVAC/MEP design, IFC drawings, P&ID, and hands-on use of AutoCAD with a commitment to timely, accurate deliverables. Collaboration across disciplines and effective communication are essential.

Qualifications

• Preparation of IFC Drawings, Schedules, Datasheets schematics and P&ID.
• Membership to an accredited engineering body (MIET, CIBSE, INSRAE, ASHRAE).
• Knowledge of ISHRAE, ASHRAE and ME codes advantageous.
• Prepare heat load calculations.
• Technical submittals of materials/equipment.
• Software like AutoCAD, MEP and other drafting tools.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design process and guide the team to deliver cost-effective solutions.
• Participate in team meetings and coordinate with WSP teams.
• Identify and flag additional fees to Local CRC Head of MEP.
• Complete timesheets accurately ahead of weekly deadlines.
• Perform regular design reviews and check design against specifications.

This role is to work as part of an engineering consultancy design team, taking a Senior Engineer role in project design work, focused on production and liaison with the WSP Building Services Team UK and mentoring and coaching junior members of the team. Looking for someone who can join our Bangalore team.

Responsibilities

• Team in association with the Local CRC Head of MEP any variance between the works constructed and the design intent
• Lead the design process and encourage the rest of the team to deliver appropriate and cost effective solutions to the agreed programme.
• Participate in team meetings, disseminate information within the team, and communicate with other teams in WSP
• Identify and flag additional fees to the Local CRC Head of MEP
• Complete timesheet accurately ahead of weekly deadlines

Qualification & Skills

• Preparation of IFC Drawings, Schedules, Datasheets schematics and P&ID
• Should possess membership to an accredited engineering body i.e. MIET, CIBSE, INSRAE, ASHRAE
• Excellent working knowledge of ISHRAE, ASHRAE and good working knowledge of ME codes would be advantageous.
• Prepare heat load calculations
• Carryout preparation of Technical submittals of various materials, equipment's etc.,
• Knowledge of software like AutoCAD, MEP & other drafting soft wares
• Carry out detailed design, calculations & drawings.
• Carry out regular design reviews
• Understand the specifications and tender conditions accordingly design.
• Receive, analyze and evaluate quotations suiting our requirements.
• knowledge about other services like electrical, PHE etc. to carryout design co-ordination
• Good presentation skills are also required
• Must be fully conversant with technical software, such as Hevacomp,
• Ability to work under pressure and with minimum of supervision.
