Job summary

WSP India seeks a seasoned Building Services engineer with strong mechanical expertise to lead UK project design references and energy strategy development. You will collaborate with UK teams, drive feasibility studies, and ensure technical excellence across projects in India.

The role requires 12+ years of experience, professional engineering membership, and a willingness to travel. A passport is required for international collaboration and client engagement.

Qualifications

• Must have proven experience in the design of Building Services.
• Degree in Mechanical Engineering and membership to an accredited engineering body (e.g. MIET, CIBSE, INSRAE, ASHRAE).
• Must be technically good in Mechanical.
• Must have design experience of UK Projects.
• Should have knowledge of various type of building projects.
• Involves feasibility studies and concepts through to detailed design, tender, and energy strategies including renewables to meet local authority requirements.
• Fully conversant with technical software (HAP, Hevacomp, IES, TM52/59/54, SAP) and project management tools.
• Proficient with MS Outlook, Word, Excel, Project.
• Fluent in English with strong technical terminology.
• Valid passport.
• Demonstrate strong management and technical skills.

Responsibilities

• Undertake technical reviews, peer reviews, checks and contribute to the design.
• Provide feedback to the Local Head of GCC on protocols and processes for continuous improvement.
• Develop positive professional relationship with the WSP UK Team and communicate project progress.
• Participate in project meetings and disseminate information within the team and other WSP teams.
• Identify and address risk issues and follow the contracting processes.
• Manage delegated tasks to meet deadlines and flag resourcing concerns.

• Complete timesheets accurately ahead of deadlines.

• Identify and act on, or refer, potential risk issues and follow in full the company commercial and contracting processes
• Manage delegated tasks to ensure that deadlines are met and flag resourcing concerns to team leader

Responsibilities

• The applicant will have proven experience in the design of Building Services with significant experience in a similar role or demonstration of a good track record.
• The applicants should possess a degree in Mechanical Engineering and possess membership to an accredited engineering body i.e. MIET, CIBSE, INSRAE, ASHRAE.
• Must be technically good in Mechanical.
• The applicant should have design experience of UK Projects
• The applicant should have adequate knowledge on various type of building projects.
• This includes undertaking feasibility studies and developing concepts through to detailed design, specification and tender to the required standards. Development of energy strategies incorporating renewable technologies and low energy designs to satisfy local authority planning requirements and compliance with UK
• Must be fully conversant with technical software, HAP, Hevacomp, IES and project management tools
• Must be fully conversant with technical software, IES-Part L, H&C Load, TM52,59,54, SAP, Whole Life Carbon
• A sound understanding of Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, Project is essential
• Must be fluent in English with an excellent understanding of technical terminology.
• Valid passport
• Applicants need to be able to demonstrate good management and technical skills.

Desired Skills

• Excellent working knowledge of BS, HTM, NBC and other local codes and good working knowledge of UK codes would be advantageous.
