Job summary

Google Inc. is seeking a Senior Mechanical Data Center Engineer to lead mechanical, HVAC and MEP design for our data centers in India.

The role requires coordinating with partners, vendors and stakeholders to drive efficient, compliant infrastructure, and to mentor junior team members. This position is based in Hyderabad with planned relocation to Visakhapatnam District or Anakapalli District in Andhra Pradesh as milestones are reached.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering, related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
• 5 years of experience in mission critical facility design and construction environments.
• Experience in project management, vendor management, and stakeholder management.
• Experience with HVAC, Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) design plans and strategy.

Responsibilities

• Develop and articulate mechanical, HVAC, MEP design plans and long-term strategy with partners, customers and stakeholders.
• Manage programs of work, engage teams, set pace for development and delivery of data center services and infrastructure.
• Prepare mechanical and MEP calculations, product selection criteria, project documentation and compliance metrics.
• Drive on-time delivery of project deliverables and coordinate with facilities and partners.

Responsibilities

• Work with partners, customers and key stakeholders to develop and articulate mechanical, HVAC, MEP design plans and long term strategy. Initiate new programs in response to need and be the catalyst for winning support and driving them through the execution phase.
• Manage various programs of work, engage teams and engineers, set the pace for development, deployment and delivery of data center services and infrastructure. Develop and prepare mechanical calculation, MEP calculation, product selection criteria, project documentation, quality check documents, code and compliances metrics, process maps, presentations and tracking reports to provide detailed current status of each project.
• Analyze service performance and system performance data and translate into recommendations and actionable plans. Provide strong quantitative analysis, requiring interpretation of technical and commercial information from structured and unstructured sources.
• Take accountability for driving project deliverables on time.
