Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• 15–20 years of mechanical engineering experience, with data center projects.
• Deep knowledge of data center cooling technologies and redundancy architectures.
• Familiarity with ASHRAE, NFPA, and Uptime Institute Tier standards.
• Professional credentials such as PE, CEng, or data center certifications desirable.
• Strong technical judgment and clear communication with clients and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Lead all mechanical aspects of data center projects from design through construction, commissioning, and handover.
• Review and approve mechanical designs, specifications, calculations, and shop drawings for codes and standards.
• Oversee on-site coordination with contractors, vendors, and consultants.
• Lead FAT, SAT, and IST to verify performance and reliability.
• Identify and manage technical risks and ensure safety and quality compliance.

Job Title: Mechanical Lead Data Centers

Are you an experienced mechanical engineering leader with a passion for mission‑critical infrastructure? We are seeking a Mechanical Subject Matter Expert (SME) / Mechanical Subject Manager to drive technical governance, design assurance, and delivery excellence for large-scale data center construction projects under a Project Management Consultancy (PMC) model.

In this key client‑facing role, you will act as the primary technical authority, ensuring that high‑performance mechanical systems are designed, installed, tested, and commissioned to meet stringent operational objectives.

Key Responsibilities

• Technical Leadership: Lead all mechanical aspects of data center projects from design development through construction, commissioning, and handover.
• Design & Technical Review: Review and approve mechanical designs, specifications, calculations, and shop drawings to ensure compliance with codes and global data center standards.
• On‑Site Coordination: Oversee contractors, vendors, and multidisciplinary consultants to ensure seamless integration of mechanical systems (HVAC, cooling, controls, and fire protection).
• Testing & Commissioning: Lead onsite testing and commissioning, including Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT), Site Acceptance Tests (SAT), and Integrated Systems Testing (IST) for redundancy and reliability verification.
• Risk & Quality Management: Proactively identify technical risks, manage compliance with safety and quality assurance standards, and drive the resolution of design or construction issues.

What We Are Looking For

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or an equivalent technical discipline.
• Experience: 15–20 years of overall mechanical engineering experience, with a proven track record of delivering data center or mission‑critical infrastructure projects.
• Technical Expertise: Deep knowledge of data center cooling technologies (chilled water, DX, CRAC/CRAH, liquid cooling), redundancy architectures, and airflow management.
• Standards & Codes: Strong familiarity with ASHRAE, NFPA, and Uptime Institute Tier standards.
• Preferred Credentials: Professional Engineer (PE), Chartered Engineer (CEng), or data center‑specific certifications (e.g., Uptime Institute ATD, CDCP) are highly desirable.
• Key Skills: Strong technical judgment, effective contractor coordination, and clear communication skills to manage client and project stakeholder expectations.
