Job summary

Worley seeks a Senior Marine Pipelines Engineer to lead subsea pipeline and flowline design for major offshore projects. You will collaborate with an experienced team, applying data-centric tools and international codes while guiding colleagues and interfacing with clients.

Ideal candidates have 12+ years’ subsea design experience, a civil or mechanical engineering degree, and familiarity with FEA (Abaqus/Ansys).

• 12+ years’ subsea pipeline design experience.
• FEA knowledge; Abaqus/Ansys proficiency advantageous.
• Ability to work independently or with minimal guidance.
• Clear communication across cultures and teams.
• Experience developing delivery plans and CTRs.

Responsibilities

• Lead engineering delivery of subsea pipeline and flowline systems per international codes.
• Oversee data-centric pipeline engineering tools and methods.
• Guide team on mechanical design, on-bottom stability, buckling, spanning.
• Understand offshore pipeline/construction aspects and interfaces.
• Interface with flow assurance and subsea disciplines within Worley Offshore Energy.
• Review design reports, drawings and presentations for client reviews.
• Oversee projects, manage budgets, and provide technical guidance to juniors.
• Support client interfacing and coordinate with the engineering manager.
• Perform and check subsea pipeline and flowline design and analysis per codes.
• Operate data-centric pipeline engineering tools to deliver results.

The Role

As a Senior Marine Pipelines Engineer with Worley, you will work closely with our existing team to deliver projects for our clients while continuing to develop your skills and experience etc.

• Leading engineering delivering of subsea pipeline and flowline systems design in accordance with international design codes.
• Oversight of data-centric pipeline engineering tools.
• Ability to provide guidance/instruction to team on subsea pipeline and flowline design aspects such as mechanical design, on-bottom stability, buckling assessments, spanning etc.
• Understanding of typical offshore pipeline/flowline construction aspects.
• Managing interfaces with flow assurance and subsea systems disciplines within Worley Offshore Energy.
• Reviewing design reports, drawings and presentations.
• Oversee projects, manage budgets, and provide technical guidance to junior engineers.
• Client interfacing / support to engineering manager.
• Performing and checking subsea pipeline and flowline design and analysis in compliance with international design codes.
• Operation of data-centric pipeline engineering tools.

• Ability to execute subsea pipeline and flowline design aspects such as mechanical design, on-bottom stability, buckling assessments, spanning etc.
• Understanding of typical offshore pipeline/flowline construction aspects.
• Interfacing with flow assurance and subsea systems disciplines within Worley Offshore Energy.
• Preparing design reports, drawings and presentations.
• Oversee projects, manage budgets, and provide technical guidance to junior engineers.

About You

To be considered for this role it is envisaged you will possess the following attributes:

• Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in Civil or Mechanical Engineering.
• 12+ years’ experience in subsea pipeline design (only experience in subsea pipeline design shall be counted).
• Experience with the Finite Element Method and proficiency in FEA software (Abaqus, Ansys) is advantageous.
• Ability to perform design and calculation independently or with minimal guidance and, interpret and explain the results and findings of the analyses.
• Good knowledge and fundamental understanding on structural mechanics, soil mechanics and fluid mechanics.
• Clear communication skills, able to build relationships across different cultures, collaborative across various parts of the organization.
• Well-developed writing skills for reporting and documenting engineering studies and analyses in the English language.
• Experience in developing delivery plans and CTRs.
• Good knowledge and fundamental understanding on structural mechanics, soil mechanics and fluid mechanics.
• Clear communication skills, able to build relationships across different cultures, collaborative across various parts of the organization.
• Well-developed writing skills for reporting and documenting engineering studies and analyses in the English language.
