Job summary

Schneider Electric in Mumbai, India seeks an experienced embedded hardware engineer to drive end-to-end product development. You will interpret PRS, develop high-level designs, and ensure manufacturability and reliability through DFM practices.

The role covers design of power supplies, microcontroller peripherals, analog and digital circuits, and EMI/EMC compliance testing, with responsibilities spanning from schematic to PCB layout and validation.

Qualifications

• Experience in PCB design and Design for Manufacturability (DFM).
• Strong understanding of microcontroller peripherals and power electronics.
• Familiarity with EMI/EMC compliance testing and standards (CE/RE/RS) is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Drive end-to-end embedded hardware product development from PRS to architecture.
• Design and development of electronics hardware and testing.
• Design of power supplies including SMPS and DC-DC converters.

Job description

Key Responsibilities/Deliver:

• Drive end- to- end embedded hardware product development—from interpreting PRS to HLD/architecture ensuring DfX (manufacturability, serviceability, performance, reliability, cost)
• Design and development of Electronics Hardware, & its testing
• Strong understanding of Microcontroller & its peripherals functioning.
• Power supply design – SMPS topologies, DC-DC converters, High frequency transformer design.
• Experience in Analog & Digital circuit design, its signal integrity– Simulation in Pspice, LTSpice, ModelSI IGBT/MOSFET Gate Drivers design, PWM techniques, Snubber design
• Strong command over usage of ADC, Opamp, Transistor & AC signal measurement
• EMI-EMC Filter Design implementation in electronics circuit design, with compliance of Surge, EFT, ESD, CE,CS, RE,RS etc.
• Heatsink calculations, Components selections like Capacitors, LDOs, Inductors, X,Y Capacitors
• Knowhow of various IEC, CE, UL, standards
• PCB layout understanding, review.
• Exposure to Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and its application in product design.
• PCB design with DFM considerations and EMI/EMC compliance.
• Proficient in component selection – op-amps, microcontrollers, power switches, transistors, diodes, and capacitors.
• Knowledge of various communication protocols like Modbus RTU, USB, CAN, TCP, Profibus, etc. from hardware design perspective.
• Knowledge of various reliability testing like, HALT, ALT etc.
• Enhance development processes and systems
