Sperton Global AS is seeking a seasoned Substation Engineer to design AIS/GIS substations up to EHV levels and prepare layouts, sections, and cable routing. You will perform grounding, lightning protection, and review BOMs, RFQs, and vendor offers.
The role requires hands-on experience with AutoCAD/Revit and adherence to IEC/IEEE standards, with collaboration across internal teams, vendors, and customers for technical reviews.

Design AIS/GIS substations up to EHV voltage levels.
Prepare primary engineering drawings including layouts, sections, equipment arrangement and cable routing.
Perform grounding/earthing and lightning protection design.
Prepare and review equipment specifications, BOMs and RFQs.
Review vendor technical offers and engineering documents.
Ensure designs comply with applicable IEC and IEEE standards.
Prepare/review engineering drawings using AutoCAD and/or Revit.
Coordinate with internal engineering teams, vendors and customers for technical requirements and design reviews.
8–12 years of relevant Substation Primary Design experience.
Strong experience in AIS/GIS substation design.
Exposure to EHV/HV substations.
Hands‑on knowledge of:
Primary equipment layout
Section/elevation drawings
Earthing/grounding
Lightning protection
Cable routing
Equipment specifications
BOM/RFQ preparation
Vendor offer evaluation
Good knowledge of IEC/IEEE standards.
Proficiency in AutoCAD/Revit.
Good communication and coordination skills.
Candidates with strong HV/EHV AIS/GIS substation primary engineering and design experience will be preferred. Experience in utility, EPC, or power transmission projects is an advantage.
