Job summary

RPG Group is seeking a design engineer to contribute to HV/EHV AIS & GIS substations (66kV to 765kV) design. You will prepare equipment specs, layouts, BOQs, and calculations, including earthing, battery sizing, and short-circuit analyses, while developing SLDs, GA, and vendor drawings.

Lead and mentor the design team, coordinate with civil, protection & control teams, vendors, and customers to ensure timely deliverables and adherence to IEC, IEEE, and ANSI standards.

Qualifications

• Experience in HV/EHV design domains is preferred.
• Ability to lead and mentor a design team.

Responsibilities

• Design and engineering of HV/EHV AIS & GIS substations (66kV to 765kV).
• Preparation of equipment specifications, layouts, BOQ/BOM, and design calculations (earthing, DSLP, battery sizing, short-circuit, conductor/equipment sizing, sag-tension).
• Development and review of SLD, GA, electrical layouts, earthing, cable trench layouts, illumination layouts, and vendor drawings.
• Expertise in switchyard layouts, equipment design, and various busbar schemes.
• Coordination with civil, protection & control teams, vendors, and customers.
• Lead and mentor the design team, monitor project/tender deliverables, and ensure timely execution.
• Manage and supervise draftspersons/design engineers.
• Strong knowledge of IEC, IEEE, and ANSI standards with the ability to work independently and communicate effectively.
