Job summary

Tata Motors is seeking a Mechanical engineer with 5–10 years of experience to manage DML studies, EPA creation and BOM updates within PLM/SAP. The role requires coordinating with ERC, QA, manufacturing and supply chain to ensure timely changes and accurate BOM data.

You will lead weekly EPA discussions, ensure Try-outs and production-ready implementations, and drive improvements in change management processes. Based in Gujarat, the candidate will support multiple production variants.

Qualifications

• BE Mechanical required with 5–10 years of relevant experience.
• Strong knowledge of BOM, EPA and DML processes.
• Experience in engineering change management and cross-functional coordination.

Responsibilities

• Carry out DML study, EPA creation and releases; update BOM in PLM/SAP.
• Lead weekly EPA meetings; coordinate with production, QC, SCM and ERC teams to ensure timely implementation of changes.
• Perform quarterly BOM verification for existing variants and new launches in coordination with SCM, warehouse and ERC teams.
• Resolve BOM discrepancies and communicate part substitutions to manufacturing and supply chain teams.

Job description

Purpose of the Role

The role will be responsible for carrying DML Study, EPA creation & Releases and BOM update in PLM/SAP. Implementation of Engineering Changes for the Production models received from ERC, within defined timeline to ensure resolution of field failure, product quality etc Cost Release activities for the New & Productionised models at pre-defined intervals by providing the required BOM accuracy.

Job Responsibility

• 1. DML Process & implementations: Maintain status of incoming flow of ERC DML Releases at STDs level for all products. Study the DMLs & prepare One Pager & represent pictorially with Valid invalid images. Highlight the importance/criticality of DMLs Interact with ERC, AQ & product line for resolving change content discrepancy. Create EPA & communicate with the EPA implementation team Modify the order of prioritization for critical DML implementations (thermal incidences, customer complaints, safety etc) Prepare daily reports for DWM Review internal processes for identifying and implementing the opportunities for improvements on monthly basis
• 2 . Implementation of Engineering Changes : Conduct weekly EPA meeting and exchange information with stakeholders. Co-ordinate for Try-out & smooth implementation for Production models with P&SQ, Quality, Manufacturing, Supply Chain & Product line. Follow defined Change Management Process to ensure implementation within defined timeline.
• 3. Quarterly Physical BOM Verification of Existing VCs and new launch VCS: Physical BOM verification required for Each variants -coordination with SCM, warehouse team and Manufacturing team and with ERC team if any design BOM discrepancy.
• 4. Reprocessing inventory, & material accounting discrepancies: Study and resolved BOM discrepancies, errors etc received from Repro CFT. Coordinate with ERC in case of design/part changes or structural anomalies in ERC BOM Communicate to Manufacturing & Supply Chain department correct wrong part fitment/part substitution to regularize the deviations.
