Akamai is seeking a Senior Engineering Manager to build and lead a new team focused on automation, observability and identity management. Qualifications

As a Senior Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for building and leading a new team of engineers. Your team will be focused on building out a portfolio of services focused on automation, observability and identity management.

As a Senior Manager Engineering, you will be responsible for:

• Formulating an execution strategy and roadmap for the delivery of a new service portfolio
• Coordinating with a cross functional product team, including architects, testers, customer support and operations
• Working closely with management to identify risks, solve problems, and maintain progress
• Hiring and onboarding new team members as needed, while fostering a collaborative and inclusive environment
• Fostering innovation in the team to create reliable, scalable and secure enterprise grade products
• Handling day‑to‑day management tasks such as 1:1 meetings, performance reviews, and coaching/mentoring

Do what you love

To be successful in this role you will:

• Have 10 or more years of relevant software engineering experience and a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent
• Have 3 or more years of experience managing a software development team (either Python or Go)
• Have experience working with distributed systems, microservices, and cloud technologies
• Demonstrate knowledge of good software development practices (Agile methodologies, CI, automated testing, etc.) and tools such as GIT, JIRA, Jenkins, etc
• Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with both technical and non‑technical stakeholders
