Job summary

Akamai Technologies in Bengaluru, India, seeks a Senior Engineering Manager to build and lead a new team focused on automation, observability and identity management within the Network Operations Systems Group.

You will form an execution strategy, coordinate with architects, testers, support and operations, and hire top engineering talent while driving innovation and robust software practices across distributed systems and cloud platforms.

Qualifications

• Have 10+ years of relevant software engineering experience with a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
• Have 3+ years of experience managing a software development team (Python or Go).
• Experience with distributed systems, microservices, and cloud technologies.
• Demonstrate knowledge of Agile methodologies, CI, automated testing, and tools like Git, JIRA, Jenkins.

• Coordinate with a cross functional product team, including architects, testers, customer support and operations.
• Work closely with management to identify risks, solve problems, and maintain progress.

• Handling day-to-day management tasks such as 1:1 meetings, performance reviews, and coaching/mentoring.

As a Senior Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for building and leading a new team of engineers. Your team will be focused on building out a portfolio of services focused on automation, observability and identity management.

As a Senior Manager Engineering, you will be responsible for:

• Formulating an execution strategy and roadmap for the delivery of a new service portfolio
• Coordinating with a cross functional product team, including architects, testers, customer support and operations
• Working closely with management to identify risks, solve problems, and maintain progress
