Role & responsibilities
Project Costing & Budgeting
- Prepare and monitor project budgets based on estimates, BOQs, contracts, and execution plans.
- Develop project cost structures covering materials, manpower, subcontractors, logistics, and overheads.
- Track Budget vs. Actual costs and identify cost risks.
- Support project tendering and commercial evaluations through cost analysis.
Cost Control & Monitoring
- Monitor project costs and ensure adherence to approved budgets.
- Analyze cost overruns and recommend corrective actions.
- Track material, manpower, subcontractor, and overhead costs.
- Identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements.
- Prevent cost leakage through effective monitoring and controls.
Profitability Analysis & Forecasting
- Monitor project profitability and contribution margins.
- Prepare Cost-to-Complete and Estimated Cost at Completion (EAC) forecasts.
- Highlight risks affecting project margins and profitability.
- Support management with accurate cost and profitability projections.
Cost Accounting & MIS
- Maintain cost centers and costing structures.
- Ensure proper allocation of direct and indirect costs.
- Prepare monthly cost control MIS and management reports.
- Conduct variance analysis and provide meaningful business insights.
- Support data-driven decision-making through accurate financial reporting.
Procurement & Inventory Cost Management
- Work closely with Procurement and Stores teams to control material costs.
- Analyze purchase price and material consumption variances.
- Monitor inventory levels, excess stock, and material wastage.
- Support vendor cost benchmarking and cost optimization initiatives.
Internal Controls & Process Improvement
- Strengthen costing processes and financial controls.
- Develop and implement SOPs for cost accounting and cost control.
- Drive reporting automation and process standardization.
Ensure compliance with company policies and approval procedures.
Preferred candidate profile
- CMA / ICWA qualified (Mandatory).
- 12+ years of experience in Cost Accounting, Cost Control, Project Finance, or Management Accounting.
- Strong experience in EPC, Engineering, Construction, Real Estate, MEP, ELV, Infrastructure, or similar project-based industries.
- Sound knowledge of project costing, budgeting, forecasting, and profitability analysis.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Experience working with ERP systems and advanced Excel.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and business partnering skills.
