Job summary

Tata Consulting Engineers Limited (TCE) is seeking a seasoned Power Plant Design Engineer for its Vadodara office. You will lead electrical design activities for gas/coal-based thermal plants and captive projects, covering equipment sizing, RFQ preparation and vendor coordination.

The role requires 8-12 years of power plant design experience, proficiency with ETAP and 3D tools, and collaboration across multi-disciplinary teams. On-site operation in Vadodara with opportunities for global projects.

Qualifications

• 8-12 years of experience in power plant design.

Responsibilities

• Design and procurement activities related to electrical systems/equipment.
• Sizing calculations for major electrical equipment or systems.
• Preparation of RFQs for major electrical packages.
• Vendor print review for all electrical equipment with cable schedules & interconnection wiring diagrams.
• Layouts such as General Arrangement drawings, Cable & conduit drawings, Earthing & Lightning Protection drawings, Lighting drawings.
• Review of control and protection, schematics for EHV, MV & LV systems.
• Load flow, Short circuit, Largest Motor starting studies using ETAP.
• Estimation of BOQs for cabling, earthing, lightning & lighting systems.
• Exposure to relay setting and coordination.
• Familiarity with 3D Engineering tools Aveva E3D, Hexagon Smart 3D, Navisworks.

Key Responsibilities

Design experience in gas & coal based thermal power plants, captive power plants and industrial projects :

• a) Design and procurement activities related to electrical systems / equipment.
• b) Sizing calculations for all major electrical equipment or systems.
• c) Preparation of RFQs for major electrical packages
• d) Vendor print review for all electrical equipment or systems along with cable schedules & interconnection wiring diagrams
• e) Exposure on Layouts such as General Arrangement drawings, Cable & conduit drawings, Earthing & Lightning Protection drawings, Lighting drawings.
• f) Exposure on Control and protection, review of schematics for EHV, MV & LV systems.
• g) Exposure to Load flow, Short circuit, Largest Motor starting studies using ETAP.
• h) Estimation of BOQs for cabling, earthing, lightning & lighting systems.
• i) Exposure to relay setting and co-ordination
• j) Inspection services for major electrical equipment (Optional)
• k) Familiarity in ETAP, DIALux, AutoGrid Pro, etc.
