Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Provide L2/L3 production support for MFT services and B2B file exchange platforms.
• Monitor, troubleshoot and resolve file transfer failures and connectivity issues.
• Administer IBM Sterling components: SFG, B2B Integrator, Connect:Direct, Secure Proxy, SEAS, Control Center.
• Onboard and maintain 3,000 trading partner relationships and manage partner configurations.
• Support SSL/TLS, PGP, encryption/decryption, and security audits.
• Coordinate testing with external partners and support 800+ internal processes.

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Senior MFT Support Engineer to provide operational support, administration, and maintenance of enterprise Managed File Transfer (MFT) platforms supporting critical business-to-business (B2B) integrations and file exchange services. The role is responsible for supporting IBM Sterling products, managing trading partner connectivity, troubleshooting file transfer issues, ensuring security compliance, and maintaining highly available file transfer infrastructure.

The successful candidate will support a large-scale environment comprising approximately 3,000 trading partners and 800+ internal file transfer processes, ensuring reliable and secure data exchange across enterprise systems. [MFT | Excel]

Key Responsibilities

MFT Platform Support

• Provide L2/L3 production support for Managed File Transfer services and B2B file exchange platforms. [MFT | Excel]
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve file transfer failures, connectivity issues, and processing delays.
• Ensure high availability and performance of enterprise file transfer services.
• Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) and implement preventive measures for recurring incidents.
• Support platform maintenance activities, upgrades, patches, and configuration changes.

IBM Sterling Administration

• Administer and support the following IBM Sterling components: [MFT | Excel]
  • IBM Sterling File Gateway (SFG)
  • IBM Sterling B2B Integrator
  • IBM Connect:Direct
  • IBM Sterling Secure Proxy
  • IBM Sterling External Authentication Server (SEAS)
  • IBM Control Center
• Manage backend configurations and support platform upgrades.
• Troubleshoot application, routing, and connectivity issues across Sterling components.

Trading Partner Management

• Support onboarding and maintenance of trading partner profiles. [MFT | Excel]
• Manage communication protocols, connection settings, and partner configurations.
• Maintain and support approximately 3,000 trading partner relationships. [MFT | Excel]
• Coordinate testing and validation of file exchange processes with external partners.

File Transfer Operations

• Support enterprise file transfer processes using:
  • SFTP
  • IBM Connect:Direct
  • Secure B2B protocols [MFT | Excel]
• Monitor inbound and outbound file transmissions.
• Troubleshoot failed transfers, routing issues, and delivery exceptions.
• Support over 800 internal file transfer processes and integrations. [MFT | Excel]

Security & Compliance

• Manage SSL/TLS certificates and secure communications. [MFT | Excel]
• Support encryption and decryption processes using PGP standards. [MFT | Excel]
• Ensure compliance with enterprise security policies and data protection requirements.
• Support certificate renewals, key management, and security audits.

Application & Process Support

• Support Business Process development and troubleshooting within the Sterling environment. [MFT | Excel]
• Manage mailbox configurations and routing rules.
• Support custom applications and utilities used for file transfers, including Route Manager-related processes. [MFT | Excel]
• Analyze and optimize file transfer workflows and configurations.

Database & Infrastructure Support

• Perform database queries for troubleshooting and operational analysis. [MFT | Excel]
• Support platforms running on AIX and Windows environments. [MFT | Excel]
• Coordinate with infrastructure and database teams during incidents and upgrades.
• Support Java upgrade activities associated with Sterling platforms. [MFT | Excel]

Monitoring & Incident Management

• Use IBM Control Center to monitor file transfer operations and system health. [MFT | Excel]
• Participate in incident response, problem management, and change management activities.
• Develop and maintain operational documentation, runbooks, and knowledge articles.
• Support on-call and after-hours production support as required.
