Job summary

TraceGains, a Veralto company, is seeking a Senior Machine Learning Engineer to own the end-to-end lifecycle of ML and AI systems in the Food and Beverage domain. The role is based in India and collaborates with engineering, product, and sales teams to deliver production-grade AI solutions.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years of software/AI engineering experience, strong Python and C# skills, and a track record of building data pipelines and knowledge-graph-enabled systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data Engineering, Machine Learning, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 5+ years of professional software engineering, data engineering, AI/ML engineering, or related experience, with demonstrated ability to ship production-grade systems across the product lifecycle.
• Experience building production services, data pipelines and integrations in Python, with ideally additional experience as well in C# Production-grade experience with knowledge graphs, graph databases, semantic modeling, ontology concepts, or relationship-based data representations.
• Ability to design and interpret evaluation metrics for AI and ML systems, including model quality, retrieval quality, search relevance, classification performance, latency, cost, reliability, and user impact.
• 2+ years experience working with Azure cloud platform (preferred), or AWS / GCP alternatively.

Senior Machine Learning Engineer

Reporting to the Head of Artificial Intelligence, the Senior Machine Learning Engineer is responsible for developing and owning the end-to-end lifecycle of Machine Learning and AI systems in the Food and Beverage science domain.

This position will be located in India.

In this role, a typical day will look like:

• Designing datasets, evaluation criteria, and test cases for AI systems.
• Measuring and monitoring the cost, performance, and accuracy of AI systems.
• Leading independent experimentation design and code design around ML systems.
• Working across multiple teams, including engineering, product, and sales, without always having explicit instruction from leadership.

The essential requirements of the job include:
