Persistent Systems Limited is seeking an experienced Senior Linux Systems Engineer to design, build, and optimize enterprise Linux infrastructure. The role focuses on high-availability platforms, automation at scale, and cloud/data center migrations in a hybrid work environment.

You will collaborate with engineering, security, and operations teams to deliver scalable and secure solutions, mentor junior staff, and drive continuous improvement across infrastructure and CI/CD support for DevOps

Qualifications

• 10-15 years of Linux systems administration and infrastructure engineering experience.
• Expert-level knowledge of Linux OS, kernel concepts, filesystems, troubleshooting, and performance tuning.
• Hands-on Kubernetes and container orchestration experience in enterprise environments.
• Experience with VMware virtualization and on-premises infrastructure.
• Experience with configuration management tools such as Ansible, Chef, CFEngine.
• Strong scripting skills in Python/Bash/Perl for automation.
• Experience with security controls, vulnerability remediation, and compliance.

What You\'ll Do:

• Design, build, and maintain complex Linux server infrastructures supporting enterprise applications and services.
• Architect and manage highly available Linux clusters and distributed systems environments.
• Monitor system health, performance, capacity utilization, and resource consumption to ensure optimal platform performance.
• Perform infrastructure optimization, tuning, and performance enhancement activities.
• Develop and deploy automation solutions using Bash, Python, Perl, or similar scripting languages.
• Implement infrastructure automation and operational efficiencies across Linux environments.
• Integrate Linux platforms with centralized identity management systems, enterprise authentication solutions, and Single Sign-On (SSO) platforms.
• Lead operating system upgrades, patching activities, and platform lifecycle management initiatives.
• Support cloud migration, data center migration, and infrastructure modernization programs.
• Implement and maintain intrusion detection, security monitoring, and vulnerability management controls.
• Conduct regular security assessments, audits, compliance reviews, and remediation activities.
• Troubleshoot complex Linux infrastructure incidents and provide advanced problem resolution.
• Support Kubernetes, containerized environments, and enterprise orchestration platforms.
• Manage CI/CD integrations and infrastructure support for DevOps initiatives.
• Create operational standards, architecture documentation, runbooks, and technical procedures.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers and operational teams.
• Participate in on-call support and critical incident management activities.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives across infrastructure, automation, and operational processes.

Expertise You\'ll Bring:

• 10-15 years of experience in Linux Systems Administration, Infrastructure Engineering, Platform Engineering, or related domains.
• Expert-level knowledge of Linux operating systems, kernel concepts, filesystem management, troubleshooting, and performance tuning.
• Strong experience designing and supporting enterprise-scale Linux infrastructures.
• Hands-on expertise with Red Hat Enterprise Linux and enterprise Linux ecosystems.
• Experience architecting high-availability, fault-tolerant, and resilient infrastructure solutions.
• Strong knowledge of distributed systems, clustering technologies, and enterprise platform architecture.
• Advanced scripting skills using Python, Bash, Perl, Ruby, or similar automation technologies.
• Hands-on experience with Kubernetes, container orchestration, and cloud-native technologies.
• Experience working with Rancher, Jenkins, and enterprise CI/CD platforms.
• Strong knowledge of VMware virtualization and on-premise infrastructure environments.
• Experience with configuration management tools such as Ansible, Chef, and CFEngine.
• Hands-on experience implementing infrastructure security, compliance controls, and vulnerability remediation.
• Strong understanding of networking fundamentals, DNS, load balancing, firewalls, and enterprise infrastructure services.
• Experience supporting cloud migration and hybrid infrastructure environments.
• Excellent troubleshooting, analytical, and root-cause analysis skills.
• Strong documentation, communication, and stakeholder management capabilities.
• Experience mentoring technical teams and driving engineering best practices.
