Persistent is seeking an experienced Senior Linux & AWS Administrator to lead enterprise infrastructure across hybrid cloud environments. You will manage Linux servers, design AWS infrastructure, and drive security, cost optimization, and automation initiatives.

The role requires 6–9 years of relevant experience, with a focus on high availability, patching, and cross‑functional collaboration. All Persistent locations, full-time employment, with a hybrid work model.

Qualifications

• 6–9 years of Linux admin and production support experience.
• Strong AWS skills (EC2, S3, VPC, IAM, RDS) and RHEL/Ubuntu/CentOS.
• Experience with hybrid cloud, patching, security, and IaC tools.

Responsibilities

• Administer and support enterprise Linux server environments (RHEL/Ubuntu/CentOS).
• Design and manage AWS services (EC2, S3, VPC, IAM, RDS, Route 53).
• Implement hybrid cloud connectivity between on-prem and AWS.
• Lead patch management and vulnerability remediation.
• Automate infrastructure with Terraform/Ansible/Python/Bash.
• Monitor health and ensure high availability and security.

About Position:

We are seeking an experienced Senior Linux & AWS Administrator to lead the administration, maintenance, and optimization of enterprise infrastructure across hybrid cloud environments. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Linux server administration, AWS cloud services, infrastructure automation, and enterprise system management. This role is responsible for ensuring high availability, security, scalability, and operational excellence across cloud and on-premises platforms while supporting critical business applications and infrastructure services.

What You'll Do:

• Administer, maintain, and support enterprise Linux server environments including RHEL, Ubuntu, and CentOS.
• Design, deploy, and manage AWS cloud infrastructure services including EC2, S3, VPC, IAM, RDS, FSx, Route 53, and related services.
• Implement and manage hybrid cloud connectivity between on-premises data centers and AWS environments using VPN and Direct Connect solutions.
• Perform infrastructure capacity planning, resource optimization, and performance tuning activities.
• Monitor server, storage, and cloud infrastructure health to ensure high availability and operational stability.
• Troubleshoot complex Linux, cloud, virtualization, storage, and network-related issues.
• Manage Active Directory services, Group Policy (GPO), DNS, DHCP, and enterprise identity management solutions.
• Administer Windows Server and Linux operating systems within hybrid environments.
• Lead enterprise-wide patch management and vulnerability remediation activities across Linux and Windows platforms.
• Implement cloud security best practices through IAM policies, security groups, access controls, and governance frameworks.
• Optimize AWS infrastructure utilization and implement cost-management strategies including reserved instances and right-sizing.
• Develop and maintain infrastructure automation using PowerShell, Bash, Python, Terraform, Ansible, or similar technologies.
• Support infrastructure provisioning, configuration management, and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) initiatives.
• Conduct root cause analysis for critical incidents and implement preventive actions.
• Collaborate with application, database, security, and network teams to support enterprise services.
• Create and maintain technical documentation, operational procedures, and knowledge repositories.
• Mentor junior administrators and provide technical guidance for infrastructure operations and cloud adoption initiatives.
• Support business continuity, disaster recovery, backup, and infrastructure resilience programs.

Expertise You'll Bring:

• 6 to 9 years of experience in Linux Administration, Oracle Database Administration, and Production Support.
• Strong hands‑on expertise in Linux operating systems such as Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL), CentOS, Oracle Linux, or similar platforms.
• Extensive experience with Oracle Database administration, monitoring, backup, recovery, patching, and troubleshooting.
• Strong proficiency in SQL and PL/SQL development, query optimization, and troubleshooting.
• Experience with Shell Scripting for automation, monitoring, and operational support activities.
• Knowledge of Linux server performance tuning, resource management, and capacity planning.
• Experience in incident management, problem management, and root cause analysis.
• Familiarity with database backup and recovery processes using Oracle recovery tools and methodologies.
• Experience supporting business‑critical applications in enterprise production environments.
• Strong understanding of system monitoring, logging, and performance management tools.
• Knowledge of high‑availability and disaster recovery concepts.
• Experience working with change management and release management processes.
• Strong troubleshooting and analytical problem‑solving capabilities.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to work independently and effectively within cross‑functional support teams.
