Job summary

ORMAE is seeking a Lead OR Scientist to deliver complex optimization solutions and lead a team of OR Scientists. This leadership role requires mentoring and guiding the team through challenging analytics projects.

Candidates should have 6+ years in large-scale optimization, with strong exposure to OR algorithm design and tools like Cplex, Gurobi, GAMS, AMPL. AIMMS knowledge is preferred.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of experience in designing and implementing complex/large scale optimization solutions.
• Exposure to Operations Research algorithm design and implementation; advanced analytics preferred.
• Strong ability to solve mathematical modeling including column generation, cutting planes, and LP tools.

Requirement

ORMAE is looking for a Lead OR Scientist with sound analytics background to deliver solutions for complex problems of our clients.

This is a Leadership Role; the candidate will be expected to Lead and mentor a Team of OR Scientists.

One should have 6 plus years of working experience in designing and implementing complex/large scale optimization solutions.

The scientist should have exposure to Operations Research algorithm design and implementation. Advanced analytics experience is preferred.

Should have a strong interest and ability to solve mathematical modeling including column generation, cutting plane & LP tools like Cplex, Gurobi, GAMS, AMPL.

AIMMS knowledge is preferred

Operations Research Domain Experience

Worked on Operations Research/Optimization projects. We are particularly looking for candidates with experience in one or more of the following domains:

• Energy & Power
• Oil & Gas / Petrochemical / Refinery
• Supply Chain & Logistics
• Airlines & Aviation
• Transportation & Distribution
• Process Industries / Chemical
• Warehouse & Network Optimization

Preferred candidate profile

Should have mentored a Team of OR Scientists (OR) in similar capacity.

Ability to understand the business problem and convert it as a mathematical model is preferred. Exposure to Optimization & statistical software like Cplex, Gurobi, Google OR tool, Arena, SAS, SPSS is preferred.

Should have a scientific mindset and interest in Operation Research algorithms w.r.t routing optimization, mathematical modeling, meta-heuristics, heuristics, forecasting, simulation model, inventory optimization, supply chain management.

Effective Client Management skills.

Additional skills

• Programming experience in Python/Java/C#/C++/R for the optimization algorithm is preferred.

Education

Graduation or Masters in Operations Research, Computer Science (with operations research experience), Industrial Engineering, Statistics, Business Analytics, or a similar field from any premium institute.
