Applied Materials India is seeking an Operations Research Scientist (Logistics) to apply advanced supply chain analytics to design distribution networks, optimize transportation modes, hubs, routing, and warehousing. You will work within the AGS network optimization and transportation ops team to deliver cost and service improvements.
The role requires a graduate degree in a quantitative field and 7–10 years in supply chain analytics, with 5+ years in data modeling (SQL, Python) and optimization

Position: Operations Research Scientist (Logistics)
As part of the Applied Global Services (AGS) network optimization & transportation ops team, your primary role is to apply supply chain advanced analytics and optimization approaches to solve complicated network problems including distribution network design, transportation mode and routing, hub and spoke designs, routing optimizations, warehousing capacity, and other areas where simulation and modeling can bring significant cost and service improvements.
Demonstrates depth and/or breadth of expertise in own specialized discipline or field
Demonstrates understanding of business, cross‑functional, financial, and people aspects and ability to analyze business processes
May lead functional teams or projects with moderate to high resource requirements, risk, and/or complexity without direct reporting authority over the project team
The ability to structure complex problems, do root cause analysis with an eye for recognizing data patterns and process connections. Ability to deep‑dive large sets of data from multiple sources, formulate/validate hypotheses, and make business recommendations
Work autonomously in an ambiguous environment yet collaborate in a matrixed team environment, seeking to understand business problems, attention to details, challenge status quo, and apply continuous innovation in a fast‑paced environment
Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to successfully communicate ideas and sell strategic plans to cross‑functional stakeholders. Ability to multi‑task in a fast‑paced environment
