Job summary

Jacobs is seeking an experienced Senior Estimator in Chennai to lead detailed cost estimation activities for complex projects. You will perform quantity take-offs from drawings and BIM models, prepare BOQs and tender docs, and analyze costs to drive profitable execution.

With 12–15 years of relevant experience and an engineering degree, you will collaborate with design, procurement, planning, and project teams, mentor junior estimators, and contribute to budgeting, forecasting, and management

Qualifications

• An Engineering degree is mandatory for this role, along with 12 to 15 years of relevant experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform detailed quantity take-offs from construction drawings and BIM models.
• Prepare accurate Bills of Quantities (BOQs), cost estimates, and tender documentation.
• Analyze labor, material, and equipment costs in accordance with industry standards and project requirements.
• Coordinate with design, procurement, planning, and project execution teams to obtain cost-related inputs and ensure estimate accuracy.
• Identify cost optimization opportunities and recommend value engineering solutions to improve project profitability.
• Develop, maintain, and update cost databases, historical cost records, and estimation benchmarks.
• Support project budgeting, cost planning, forecasting, and financial reporting activities.
• Monitor estimate performance and provide cost analysis throughout the project lifecycle.
• Lead, guide, and mentor junior estimators and team members to enhance team capability and performance.
• Prepare technical and commercial reports, presentations, and management summaries.
• Demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills while collaborating with internal and external stakeholders.
