Job summary

Larsen & Toubro Ltd. Surat is seeking a Sr. Lead Engg Manager to guide the structural design of bridges and related infrastructure. You will oversee analysis, calculations and drawings, ensuring compliance with design codes and safety standards.

You will mentor a sizeable design team, coordinate with geotechnical and MEP teams, and manage project deliverables and schedules to meet client expectations and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering; master's preferred.
• 15–18+ years of experience in bridge design, structural analysis, and project management.
• Proficient in SAP2000, MIDAS, STAAD.Pro and AutoCAD.

Responsibilities

• Design oversight: develop, review and approve structural analysis, calculations, and detailed drawings per IRC/IRS/AASHTO.
• Manage end-to-end design of bridge and transportation structures (RCC/PRECAST).
• Direct production and review of technical deliverables and approvals.
• Quality Assurance: ensure designs comply with standards, safety, and environmental guidelines.
• Budget & Schedule Management: track design delivery timelines and resources.
• Coordinate with geotechnical, hydrology, Construction methods, Temporary works, MEP teams and highway teams.
• Lead and mentor design team of engineers.

Sr. Lead Engg Manager Lead Design Manager

leads the structural engineering and design of structures like highway bridges, interchanges, and flyovers. Oversees design teams, schedules, ensure compliance with engineering codes, and collaborate with multidisciplinary professionals to deliver safe, durable infrastructure solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Design Oversight: Develop, review and approve structural analysis, calculations, and detailed engineering drawings using software and relevant design codes (IRC, IRS, AASHTO etc).
• Manage the end-to-end design process of bridge, permanent structure (segmental bridges/High speed rail) design works and transportation structures (RCC/PRECAST).
• Directly responsible for production & review of technical deliverables and their subsequent approvals.
• Quality Assurance: Ensure all designs comply with correct standard & specifications, authority guidelines, safety regulations, and environmental standards.
• Budget & Schedule Management: Develop and track engineering design delivery timelines, and resource allocation to meet project targets.
• Client & Stakeholder Relations: Coordinate with geotechnical, hydrology, Construction methods, Temporary works, MEP Teams and highway teams for project design completions. Seek approval from clients and stakeholders.
• Project Leadership: Be able to demonstrate the successful technical/design leadership for sizeable team of Design and CAD Engineers. Mentor, supervise, and empower team leads and junior engineers to foster a high-performing structural design team.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Education: Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (Master's preferred).
• Experience: 15 to 18+ years of progressive experience in bridge design, structural analysis, and project management. The candidate shall be well versed in design of permanent structures pertaining to various components as mentioned. Should have good understanding of various processes in elevated viaduct/flyover and tunnel construction.
• Software Proficiency: Expertise in industry-standard bridge design and structural modeling software (e.g., SAP2000, MIDAS, STAAD.Pro, AutoCAD).
• Communication: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills for reporting and stakeholder presentations.
