Job summary

Magna Steyr in Pune seeks a Senior Lead Engineer for Doors & Closures to define conceptual solutions and guide multi-project teams. You will interact with customers, prepare design proposals with benchmarks, and contribute to technical papers and process excellence.

The role requires BE or DME with 12+ years (BE) or 15+ years (DME) in engineering, and strong GD&T, stress analysis, and manufacturing knowledge. English/Hindi/Marathi language skills are valued.

Qualifications

• BE or DME in a relevant engineering stream is required.
• Strong knowledge of 3D modelling and GD&T.
• Experience with DFMEA, PFMEA and Statistical Process Control.
• Understanding of vehicle manufacturing and assembly processes.

Responsibilities

• Define and implement conceptual technical solutions for domain or requirements.
• Guide development teams and identify value-adding areas for stakeholders.
• Report to Principal Engineer / Technical Specialist / SME.
• Consult customer requirements and prepare design proposals with benchmarks.
• Publish white papers and drive process improvements.
• Lead internal training on best practices and technologies.
• Conduct technical interviews up to Senior Engineer level.
• Support pre-sales and technical proposals on solutions/architectures.
• Develop a personal development plan with your supervisor.

Job Responsibilities:

Senior Lead Engineer - Doors & Closures:

• Role Purpose: To define and implement the conceptual technical solution(s) for specific technical requirements or domain.
• Guiding technical lead or team for development and also identifying the areas for value addition to stakeholders.
• Reporting to Principal Engineer / Technical Specialist / SME.
• Responsibilities/ task: Customer / Stakeholder Requirement Consulting: Conceptualize technical solution(s) for domain or specific requirement Prepare alternate design / study proposals with appropriate benchmark/evidence Conduct periodic reviews and guide technical lead / team for required correction across multiple projects.
• Organization representation / Capability building: Supporting the concerned authorities towards technical drafts/SOR/ RFQ etc Publish white papers / papers in conference and seminars Process improvement for quality and operational excellence (process guideline, work product template, review checklist)
• Internal training on best practices / processes / technology updates.
• Conduct Technical interviews till Senior Engineer level.
• Pre-Sales and Technical Support: Support pre-sales technical proposals on solutions / architectures.
• Personal Development: Monitor the gaps for self and create a personal development plan in discussion with supervisor for plan on closure of gaps or building new skill.

Role Requirement (Expectations):

Educational Qualification: BE/DME in relevant Engineering stream.

No. of years of work experience (relevant): If BE then 12+ years If DME then 15+ years.

• 3D Modelling GD&T + Fit and Finish.
• Stresses & Strains, Direct stress, Shear force, Bending moment; diagrams and calcs.
• DFME + PFMEA+ Statistical Process Control.
• Relevant Stamping, Molding, Casting, Forging, Grinding Processes, etc.
• Vehicle Manufacturing & Assembly Process.
