Job summary

Principal Financial Group in Pune is seeking a Senior Lead Analyst - FP&A to support forecasting, management reporting, product reporting, and ad-hoc analyses. The role demands strong data skills (SAS, SQL, Excel, Power BI) and deep GAAP/Statutory knowledge. Hybrid work with 3 days in office in Pune.

The candidate should have advanced analytics capability, presentation skills, and a track record in finance transformation projects. Chartered Accountant or MBA Finance is preferred.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Support FP&A, management reporting, forecasting, and product reporting; model financial results and link initiatives to outcomes
• Apply US GAAP and statutory concepts; analyze variances and drivers with cause/effect
• Utilize SAS, SQL, Excel, and Power BI for data extraction, transformation, analysis, automation, and reporting; leverage AI tools
• Provide analytical support on performance metrics, income statement, and balance sheet activity; evaluate actuals vs forecast
• Redesign processes and reports to boost efficiency and align with business needs
• Collaborate with other teams to share best practices and deliver on strategic and financial initiatives
• Deliver timely financial results and forecasts; present drivers of key metrics; understand RS data structure (WSRS)
• Manage projects independently and prioritize multiple responsibilities; strong data visualization and presentation skills
• Possess Chartered Accountant or MBA Finance; strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills

Responsibilities

Senior Lead Analyst - FP&A

SHift - 1.30 PM - 10.30 PM

Mode - Hybrid - 3 days in office, Pune

• Support FP&A, Management Reporting, Forecasting, Product reporting, Project/Ad-hoc work. Modeling of financial results and ability to link initiatives to the results.
• Ability to apply US GAAP and Statutory Accounting Principles concepts along with performance metrics to new initiatives and identify impact to financial results. Conduct cause-and-effect analysis to identify key drivers of results and uncover root causes of variances.
• Strong technical expertise in SAS, SQL, Advanced Excel, and Power BI for data extraction, transformation, analysis, automation, and management reporting. Experience leveraging AI-powered tools such as Microsoft Copilot and Generative AI solutions to improve productivity, streamline financial processes, and generate actionable business insights is highly preferred.
• Provide analytical support related to performance metrics, income statement, and balance sheet activity. Evaluate actuals and forecast and the key drivers of variances.
• Redesign processes and reports to optimize efficiency and align with changing business needs.
• Work collaboratively with other teams across the department and the Enterprise to share best practices and deliver on strategic and financial initiatives.
• Support the delivery of timely financial results and forecasts, perform in depth analysis offering insights of drivers to key performance metrics.
• Gain deep knowledge of the company’s financial data structure and tools to support reporting needs across RIS, most specifically within WSRS.
• Manage projects and workload independently. Ability to prioritize and manage multiple responsibilities simultaneously.

• Proven track record of working in complex Finance & Accounting function for medium/large scale operations
• Knowledge and experience of transitions and transformation (process, digital, etc) for Finance & Accounting domain
• Must have a good knowledge and experience of working in Operational Excellence environment as Project Lead, certification in any of the improvement methodologies like Lean, Six Sigma, etc. is mandatory
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and inspire others.
