Job summary

EPAM Systems, Inc. in Chennai, India is seeking a Senior JavaScript Automation Test Engineer to lead a QA team and drive reliable releases. You will partner with product and engineering, automate UI and API scenarios, and refine the automation framework, while mentoring engineers in a dynamic, inclusive culture.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, design end-to-end test plans, and contribute to continuous improvement through QA metrics and new tooling adoption.

Qualifications

• 6–9 years of professional automation testing experience centered on JavaScript.
• Advanced expertise in JavaScript and TypeScript with 4–6 years of hands-on delivery.
• 1+ year of leadership experience coordinating or leading testing efforts.
• Strong proficiency in UI Automation tooling, including Playwright, Mocha and Chai.
• Experience building Web Service and API Test Automation, including test cases and test automation frameworks.
• Knowledge of WebDriver IO usage for UI testing.

Responsibilities

• Guide and mentor a tester team by setting direction and unblocking delivery.
• Collaborate with cross-functional partners to gather and analyze system requirements.
• Develop end-to-end test plans, test cases and test strategies.
• Plan and prioritize testing activities to maximize coverage and efficiency.
• Build, enhance and run automation scripts using advanced automation tools.
• Log, track and validate defects to ensure timely resolution.
• Set and enforce quality standards while promoting best practices.
• Review QA metrics and trends to support continuous improvement.
• Keep up with new testing tools, technologies and best practices.
• Share meaningful input in QA meetings and participate in testing activities.
