Job summary

Deutsche Bank AG in Pune, India, is seeking an Senior Java Developer (AVP) to design and build high‑load Java applications, with Kotlin as a nice-to-have. You will work with business stakeholders to translate requirements, contribute to microservices, and mentor juniors in a fast‑paced, agile environment.

You will leverage cloud technologies like Kubernetes, ArgoCD, Grafana and other modern SDLC tools (Git, Jira, Jenkins) and apply AI-assisted workflows to improve productivity while keeping data

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in Java development
• Proven experience in high-load distributed systems design
• Strong knowledge of algorithms and data structures
• Experience with relational databases and SQL
• Familiarity with cloud technologies and modern SDLC tools
• Nice to have Kotlin experience and AI tooling awareness

Your key responsibilities

• Design and develop new functionality on Java and optionally Kotlin
• Work with the business and BAs on functional and non-functional requirements
• Co-working with QA team on test automation of new and existing functionality
• Investigate and fix production incidents, drive stability and monitoring improvements
• Design and implement subsystems and intersystem protocols
• Mentor junior engineers and share technical knowledge across the team.
• Take ownership of assigned components and features from design through production delivery and support.

Your skills and experience

• 8+ years of experience and excellent knowledge of Java and knowing Kotlin is a nice to have
• Proficiency in high-load distributed systems design: knowledge of consistency models, API types and trade-offs
• Good knowledge of algorithms, complexity, data structures
• Basic knowledge of SQL and relational databases
• Basic knowledge of modern Cloud technologies, i.e. k8s, ArgoCD, Grafana Tanka
• Basic knowledge of Linux
• Experience with modern SDLC tools - Git, JIRA, Artifactory, Jenkins is a plus
• Proven ability to leverage AI tools to enhance productivity, optimize workflows to solve business problems, while applying critical judgment to ensure responsible and ethical use of data and AI outputs.
