Job summary

Deutsche Bank AG is seeking an experienced Backend Developer (AVP) to lead a feature team in Bangalore. You will drive design, implementation and production readiness across services, with a focus on robust, well-tested deployments and code quality.

You will work with Java/Kotlin, Spring, and modern data stores, using AI-assisted productivity tools and modern CI/CD pipelines to deliver iterative, high-quality software in an agile environment.

Qualifications

• Experience with spec-driven development and AI tool-led productivity.
• Proficiency in Java/Kotlin and Spring ecosystem.
• Strong knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and containerization.

Responsibilities

• Lead the feature team to design, implement and deploy components.
• Use BDD and TDD to ensure high-quality software and maintainability.
• Architect and evolve service components and ensure reliable production deployments.
• Support on-call and drive automated delivery pipelines.

Be ready to work on a range of technologies and components, including user interfaces, services and databases. Act as a generalizing specialist. Define and evolve the architecture of the components you are working on and contribute to architectural decisions at a department and bank-wide level. Ensure that the software you build is reliable and easy to support in production. Be prepared to take your turn on call providing 3rd line support when it's needed Help your team to build, test and release software within short lead times and with minimum of waste. Work to develop and maintain a highly automated Continuous Delivery pipeline. Help create a culture of learning and continuous improvement within your team and beyond Your skills and experience Experienced in Spec Driven Development using AI tools. Proficiency in Java /Kotlin with good understanding of both object oriented and functional programming concepts. Practical experience in building data engineering solutions Strong knowledge of Java, Spring, Spring Boot, Maven, PHP, Reddis , Elastic Search Strong knowledge of Github Actions, CI/CD pipeline , Container-native delivery : Docker , Kubernetes, Helpm Experience with setting up key stores, generating SSL Certificates, Gateways , Apigee Experience working in an agile team, practicing Scrum, Kanban or XP Experience of Automated Testing is highly desirable Architecture and design approaches that support rapid, incremental and iterative delivery, such as Domain Driven Design, CQRS, Event Sourcing and microservices. Deep API design (GraphQL and REST) and inter-service communication (sync + async/eventing) High performance SQL data access - SQL scripts Database: Oracle 10G or higher for Liquibase database automation and Postgres – modelling, performance , zero-low downtime schema change Ability to read and safely evolve an unfamiliar legacy PHP codebase Proven ability to leverage AI tools to enhance productivity, optimise workflows to solve business problems, while applying critical judgment to ensure responsible and ethical use of data and AI outputs.
