Job summary

Persistent Systems in Hyderabad is seeking a Senior Java Developer with 6 to 10 years of experience to own a mid-size engagement or major workstream on strategic programs, including workflow modernization and data modernization initiatives. You will be the technical face to the client at the module level.

Responsibilities include leading design and delivery, setting code standards, translating executive asks into concrete engineering plans, and mentoring L1/L2 developers while staying current

Qualifications

• 6 to 10 years of experience in Java development

We are seeking a talented Senior Java Developer with 6 to 10 years of experience Owns an entire mid-size engagement or leads a major workstream on a strategic program (e.g., a workflow-modernization (Pega Camunda) or data-modernization domain). Technical face of Persistent to the client at module level.

What You'll Do:

• Lead design and delivery of a program module; set code standards and module architecture
• Scope new workstreams; translate vague executive asks into concrete engineering plans
• Drive AIDLC adoption and measure Copilot / Speck it ROI on the module
• Lead design and PR reviews; mentor L1/L2 FDEs
• Own the client technical relationship at workstream/module level
• Stay updated with the latest trends and technologies in the Java ecosystem and cloud computing.
• Deep Java/Spring ecosystem; event-driven architecture with Kafka
• GCP (GKE, Cloud SQL, Pub/Sub); mainframeJava coexistence patterns
• Performance, resiliency, and regulatory-grade determinism

Expertise You'll Bring:

• Designs RAG and Agentic Solutions; advanced context engineering
• Drives measurable developer-productivity outcomes from AI tooling
• Java/Spring Boot, GitHub + Copilot, Maven, PostgreSQL, Docker, Jira/Confluence, GCP fundamentals.
• Harness, GKE/Cloud Run, Kafka, SonarQube, Vertex AI basics; IBM Watsonx for Z (Track B).
• Terraform, Camunda/Appian, Vertex AI, agentic frameworks (Agents + Skills, MCP).
