Job summary

DSA Architects International is seeking a Senior Technical Interior Designer to lead the technical aspects of interior design projects from concept through tender, owning CAD/BIM workflows and coordinating with design, production and external partners.

You will manage a production team, ensure compliance with international and local codes, deliver buildable drawings, and guide junior designers while maintaining budgets and schedules.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design/ Architecture or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Technical aspect of Interior design project
• Develop and implement space planning solutions.
• Collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
• Manage and monitor project timelines and schedules.
• Preparation of documentation drawings for projects following the guidance of the Designer.
• Develop technical drawings and design documentation from concept, schematic, detailed design, and tender documentation.
• Manage the CAD / Revit Production team/Outsource company, program objectives and answer queries in a clear format
• Reviews and comment on documentation drawings in a clear and efficient format to ensure no abortive work using PDF software.
• Coordinating technical drawings with specification tags,
• Manage CAD drafting, hand sketching, coordination with project consultants and any other technical coordination tasks required.
• Provide technical detailing suggestions and proposals for review with the designers.
• Recognize and highlight technical problems and provide solutions at an early stage.
• Set up and manage initial drawing lists / planning tracker for all required drawings for documentation stages of the projects.
• To be knowledgeable and experienced with international code standards, local authority regulations, operator guidelines and ensure compliance in the technical design.
• To produce technically functional and buildable drawing details.
• To accept responsibility for work produced.
• Strong understanding of project budgets and timelines.
• Manage to liaise with consultants, and sub-consultants to ensure compliance and project-specific requirements.
• Monitor project progress, ensuring timely delivery and alignment with investment and feasibility targets.
• Prepare and oversee design documentation, drawings, and specifications.
• Coordinate and oversee the in-house team, including designers, visualizers, drafters, and FF&E specialists.
• Strong understanding in technical drawings and has keen eye on details
• Proficiency in BIM/Revit for project delivery.
• Review and validate design submissions to maintain quality, efficiency, and market competitiveness.
• Manage coordination meetings with relevant disciplines.
• To be proactive and suggest improvements or amendments required to the ID systems and standards.
• Ensure compliance with and implementation of DSA standards
• Guide and mentor junior/intermediate designers for career developments.

1. JOB PURPOSE

A Senior Technical Interior Designer will lead the technical part of the interior design projects from all stages of the project. A fully qualified individual who can own and run Technical CAD/BIM drawing packages of projects independently with minimal supervision.

To collaborate with our design, CAD/BIM, and production teams while ensuring that the technical aspect of the project is fully coordinated with all disciplines.

Possesses technical skills, team management and communication skills which will allow them to make a valuable contribution to every project.

2. JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES LINKED TO OBJECTIVES

The following detailed tasks, duties and responsibilities, although expected to be implemented and managed by the Senior Technical Interior Designer, should be coordinated with DSA’s line management and regional management. 3. QUALIFICATION / EXPERIENCE / REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design/ Architecture or equivalent.
• 8+ years of professional experience, Middle East based experience preferred.
• Strong project portfolio on hospitality and residential projects
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, Blue Beam Revu or other PDF software.
• Excellent design sense, detailing skills.
• Strong communication and leadership abilities.
• Flexible and has teamwork attitude.
• Ability to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines.
