Job summary

The Orange Lane - India is seeking a Senior Interior Designer for a full-time, on-site role based in Mumbai. You will lead end-to-end design projects from concept through completion, developing concepts, space plans, and coordinating drawings while selecting FF&E to match project requirements and brand standards.

You will collaborate with clients to understand needs, ensure quality execution with contractors and vendors, and manage timelines and design documentation across the project lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Interior Design, Architecture or related field.
• Minimum 4 years of industry experience in luxury residential and/or commercial interiors.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, SketchUp, Revit and Photoshop.
• Knowledge of local materials, finishes, building codes and construction practices in India.
• Excellent client-facing and communication skills.

Role Description: The Senior Interior Designer is a full-time, on-site role based in Mumbai, responsible for leading end-to-end design projects from concept through completion. Day-to-day responsibilities include developing design concepts, preparing detailed space plans, coordinating architecture and construction drawings and selecting FF&E aligned with project requirements and brand standards. The role involves collaborating with clients to understand their needs and ensuring quality execution with contractors, vendors and consultants. The Senior ID will work closely with other team members, manage project timelines and deliverables and maintain documentation and design standards throughout the project lifecycle.

Qualifications:

• Strong proficiency in Interior Design and FF&E selection, with a portfolio demonstrating luxury high-quality residential and/or commercial work.
• Experience in space planning and coordination, ensuring functional, aesthetically cohesive layouts.
• Ability to develop and review detailed Construction Drawings and technical documentation for on-site execution.
• Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Interior Design, Architecture or a related field.
• Proficiency in design and drafting software (e.g., AutoCAD, SketchUp, Revit, Photoshop) and presentation tools.
• Demonstrated project management skills, including budgeting, scheduling, and vendor coordination.
• Excellent communication and client-facing skills, with the ability to present and justify design decisions clearly.
• Minimum industry work experience of 4 years (internships don't count).
• Knowledge of local materials, finishes, building codes and construction practices in India.
