Job summary

Ingredion Incorporated in Vadodara and Dahej is seeking a Senior Instrumentation & Control Engineer to lead the automation scope of a greenfield Capex facility. You will own design reviews, instrument selection, and system integration from detailed design through startup.

The role requires 10 years in automation projects, a degree in Instrumentation/Automation/Mechatronics, hands-on DCS/PLC/SCADA experience, and strong collaboration with process engineering and operations.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Instrumentation, Automation, Control Systems, Mechatronics or related engineering discipline.
  • 10 years experience leading automation projects in a manufacturing environment.
  • Hands-on experience with DCS, PLC, SCADA or industrial automation systems.
  • Knowledge of DeltaV is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the instrumentation and controls scope from detailed design and procurement through construction, commissioning, startup, and handover.
  • Review key engineering deliverables, including P&IDs, control philosophies, system architecture, instrument indexes, data sheets, specifications, and cause-and-effect diagrams.
  • Guide the selection and application of field instruments, control valves, analyzers, safety devices, DCS, PLC, SCADA, and related automation systems.
  • Partner with process engineering and operations teams to develop control strategies, process logic, interlocks, alarms, and operating sequences.
  • Provide technical input for supplier evaluation, vendor selection, document reviews, and factory acceptance testing of control systems and instrument packages.
  • Support site installation, calibration, loop checks, control system testing, commissioning, startup, troubleshooting, and performance stabilization.
  • Ensure instrumentation systems meet safety, quality, reliability, and regulatory requirements, with complete documentation and effective handover to operations and maintenance teams.

We are looking for a Senior Instrumentation & Control Engineer to join our Capex project team, one of Ingredion's most significant manufacturing investments in India. What you will bring:

  • Experience in manufacturing, chemicals, food ingredients, pharmaceuticals, engineering consulting, or related process industries.
  • Hands-on experience with DCS, PLC, SCADA, or industrial automation systems.
  • Knowledge of DeltaV is a plus.
  • Experience with commissioning and startup activities.
  • Project management or continuous improvement certifications.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
  • Hands on experience supporting greenfield or brownfield projects.
  • Process Safety Management experience.
