Job summary

Ingredion is seeking a Process Engineer to join our growing team in India. You will contribute to design, commissioning, startup, and long-term operation of a greenfield manufacturing facility, working with global engineering experts.

You will lead process design, FEED, utilities, and safety programs with experience in chemical industries and Lean Six Sigma. Relocation within country is available; on-site roles in Vadodara/Dahej.

Qualifications

• Degree in Chemical Engineering.
• 8 years of experience in chemical, specialty chemicals, pharmaceutical, food & beverage or petrochemical industry.
• Experience in process engineering, process improvement, and manufacturing operations.
• Lean Six Sigma certification; knowledge of AutoCAD and MS Project.

Responsibilities

• Lead process engineering design activities, including material and energy balances, PFDs, P&IDs.
• Support FEED and detailed engineering for new facilities.
• Develop utility systems and hydraulic calculations for boilers, water treatment and air systems.
• Drive process control strategies, automation reviews, and FAT.
• Lead commissioning, startup, troubleshooting, and process optimization.
• Support technology transfer and scale-up activities.
• Champion process safety programs (PHA, MOC, PSSR).
• Provide technical support for equipment evaluation and capital projects.

This is a unique opportunity to contribute to the design, commissioning, startup, and long‑term operation of a world‑class manufacturing facility while working alongside global engineering experts.

What you will do:

• Lead process engineering design activities including material and energy balances, PFDs, P&IDs, equipment sizing, and process calculations.
• Support Front-End Engineering Design (FEED) and detailed engineering for new manufacturing facilities.
• Develop utility systems and hydraulic calculations for boilers, water treatment, compressed air, and other plant utilities.
• Drive process control strategies, automation reviews, and factory acceptance testing activities.
• Lead commissioning, start‑up, troubleshooting, and process optimization initiatives.
• Support technology transfer projects and scale‑up activities.
• Champion process safety programs including PHA, MOC, PSSR, and incident investigations.
• Provide technical support for equipment evaluation, vendor selection, and capital project execution.
• Ensure engineering designs comply with Ingredion standards, safety requirements, and regulatory expectations.

What you will bring:

• Degree in Chemical Engineering.
• 8 years of experience in the chemical, specialty chemicals, pharmaceutical, food & beverage or petrochemical industry.
• Experience in process engineering, process improvement, and manufacturing operations.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
• Hands on experience supporting greenfield or brownfield projects.
• Process Safety Management experience.
• Lean Six Sigma certification.
• Knowledge of AutoCAD and MS Project.
