Job summary

Ingredion is seeking a Process Engineer to join our India team for a major greenfield manufacturing project in Gujarat. This on-site role supports design, commissioning, startup and long-term operation of a world‑class facility at Dahej and Vadodara.

You will lead process engineering activities, FEED support, utility system design, safety programs and commissioning, coordinating with global engineering experts.

Qualifications

• Bachelors or higher in Chemical Engineering with relevant experience in chemical, specialty chemicals, pharmaceutical, food & beverage or petrochemical industries.
• 8+ years of experience in process engineering, process improvement, and manufacturing operations.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities; excellent communication and stakeholder management.

Responsibilities

• Lead process engineering design activities including material and energy balances, PFDs, P&IDs, equipment sizing, and process calculations.
• Support FEED and detailed engineering for new manufacturing facilities.
• Develop utility systems and hydraulic calculations for boilers, water treatment, compressed air, and other plant utilities.
• Drive process control strategies, automation reviews, and factory acceptance testing.
• Lead commissioning, start-up, troubleshooting, and process optimization initiatives.
• Support technology transfer projects and scale-up activities.
• Champion process safety programs including PHA, MOC, PSSR, and incident investigations.

What you will do:

• Lead process engineering design activities including material and energy balances, PFDs, P&IDs, equipment sizing, and process calculations.
• Support Front-End Engineering Design (FEED) and detailed engineering for new manufacturing facilities.
• Develop utility systems and hydraulic calculations for boilers, water treatment, compressed air, and other plant utilities.
• Drive process control strategies, automation reviews, and factory acceptance testing activities.
• Lead commissioning, start-up, troubleshooting, and process optimization initiatives.
• Support technology transfer projects and scale-up activities.
• Champion process safety programs including PHA, MOC, PSSR, and incident investigations.
• Provide technical support for equipment evaluation, vendor selection, and capital project execution.
• Ensure engineering designs comply with Ingredion standards, safety requirements, and regulatory expectations.

What you will bring:

• Degree in Chemical Engineering.
• 8 years of experience in the chemical, specialty chemicals, pharmaceutical, food & beverage or petrochemical industry.
• Experience in process engineering, process improvement, and manufacturing operations.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
• Hands on experience supporting greenfield or brownfield projects.
• Process Safety Management experience.
• Lean Six Sigma certification.
• Knowledge of AutoCAD and MS Project.
