Job summary

Peoplefy in Bengaluru seeks an experienced electronics design engineer to develop energy meters and sensing products from concept to production. You will work on current/voltage sensing, mixed-signal hardware, and MCU-based measurement functions.

You will apply SPICE and MATLAB/Simulink for modeling, design PCBs (OrCAD), ensure compliance with EN/IEC/MID/CE, and collaborate across international teams to advance division IFT.

Qualifications

• 3–10 years of experience in electronics design for energy measurement.
• Experience with analog/digital mixed-signal design.
• Experience with energy meter design (MID or non-MID).

Responsibilities

• Design energy meters and current/voltage sensing products from concept to mass production.
• Design sensor hardware, PCB layouts and schematics (OrCAD).
• Select and design sensing solutions using CTs, Hall sensors, shunts and TMR sensors.
• Apply analog signal processing for accurate data extraction.
• Design MCU-based measurement functions with high performance and low power.
• Use SPICE, MATLAB/Simulink for modeling and optimization.
• Prototype, test, calibrate to validate performance.
• Integrate wired/wireless interfaces for data transmission.
• Ensure compliance with EN, IEC, UL, MID, CE.
• Collaborate in international activities for Division IFT.
• Monitor developments in Sensors and ASIC areas.

Job description

The role encompasses sensors and devices for measuring and monitoring current and voltage (AC and DC) to calculate the resulting energy and all related data in applications for power supply, generation, and distribution, as well as for consumption measurement, including for billing purposes.

Experience - 3years -10years

• Design energy meters (MID or non-MID) and current / voltage / power sensing products, from concept to mass production.
• Design sensor hardware, PCB layouts and schematics (OrCAD), often with a focus on analog / digital mixed-signal design.
• Select and design current and voltage sensing solutions using CTs, Hall sensors, shunts and TMR sensors to meet accuracy, isolation and cost targets.
• Apply analog signal processing to develop sophisticated filtering and amplification techniques for accurate data extraction.
• Design microcontroller-based measurement functions ensuring high performance, low power consumption and reliability.
• Use simulation tools (SPICE, MATLAB / Simulink, electromagnetic simulation where required) to model, validate and optimise designs.
• Prototype designs, conduct rigorous testing and calibration to validate performance and refine designs.
• Integrate communication interfaces (wired and/or wireless) for data transmission.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards (EN, IEC, UL, MID, CE, ...).
• Collaborate in international activities relevant for the Division IFT.
• Monitor relevant technological developments in the areas of Sensors and Application-Specific Integrated Circuits (ASIC).
