Job summary

Jhonka HVAC in Pune seeks a Senior HVAC Design and Estimation Engineer with 5–10 years of experience to lead design for VRF/VRV, DX, AHU and chiller systems. You will perform heat-load calculations with HAP, develop detailed 2D/3D layouts in AutoCAD and Revit, and prepare BOQs and cost estimates aligned with budgets.

You will ensure compliance with ASHRAE/IS/NBC/SMACNA, assist tendering efforts, and act as a design-site bridge, coordinating with Electrical, ELV, and Plumbing to achieve

Qualifications

• Education: B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering.
• Experience: 5–10 years in HVAC design.
• Proficiency: AutoCAD, Revit, HAP, MS Excel.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end design for VRF/VRV, DX, AHU and chiller systems.
• Perform heat-load and hydraulic calculations using HAP.
• Create 2D/3D layouts and BIM drawings with AutoCAD/Revit.
• Ensure designs meet ASHRAE/IS/NBC/SMACNA standards.
• Prepare BOQs and cost estimates aligned to budgets.
• Conduct market rate assessments and vendor comparisons.
• Drive value engineering to reduce costs without compromising quality.
• Support tendering and bidding with technical inputs.
• Act as design-site bridge; periodic installation checks.
• Develop installation checklists; troubleshoot issues.
• Coordinate with Electrical/ELV/Plumbing to avoid clashes.

Role Overview:

We are looking for a Senior HVAC Design & Estimation Engineer who can bridge the gap between complex conceptual design and flawless site execution. As a core of the design team, you won’t just draw plans—you will engineer environments for residential, commercial, and healthcare sectors.

Key Responsibilities -

1. Advanced Design & Technical Leadership

• Lead the end-to-end design process for VRF/VRV, DX, AHU, and Chiller systems. (Ventilation System ( FA & Exhaust ), Ducting Routing & Design, CHW Piping etc.)
• Mastermind heat load calculations using HAP (Hourly Analysis Program) and perform complex pump/hydraulic calculations.
• Develop detailed 2D/3D layouts, schematics, and elevations using AutoCAD and Revit (BIM).
• Ensure all HVAC designs exceed industry standards (ASHRAE, IS, NBC, SMACNA) and comply with regulatory requirements.
• Prepare precise BOQs and cost estimates that align with project budgets.
• Conduct rigorous market rate assessments and vendor comparisons to ensure competitiveness.
• Drive Value Engineering initiatives to optimize costs without compromising quality or sustainability.
• Support the Business growth by leading technical inputs for tendering and bidding processes.

3. Site Synergy & Quality Audit

• Act as the technical bridge between design and site, conducting periodic visits to ensure installation matches approved shop drawings.
• Lead and develop comprehensive checklists for equipment installation.
• Troubleshoot operational plant issues and provide technical support during the entire project lifecycle.
• Coordinate HVAC seamlessly at design stage & later on support during execution stage with respect to Electrical, ELV, and Plumbing services to ensure zero-clash execution.

Requirements -

• Education: Minimum B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering.
• Experience: Proven track record in HVAC Design with MEP/ HVAC Consultancies, HVAC Contractors, Real Estate Developers
• Software Mastery: Expert-level proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, HAP, and MS Excel.
