Job summary

Stantec Consulting International Ltd. in Pune is seeking a Senior CAD Designer to assist highway engineers and senior staff in delivering projects. You will produce road/highway drawings, layout plans, and related diagrams for successful project delivery.

The role requires extensive drafting experience, proficiency in AutoCAD and MicroStation, and knowledge of Civil3D/OpenRoads/OpenRoads. This is an on-site position in Pune with potential travel to international projects.

Qualifications

• Diploma or ITI in Civil Drafting with relevant highway drafting experience.
• 12 years’ professional road/highway drafting experience after training.

Responsibilities

• Produce drawings for road/highway projects, interpreting data and communicating clearly.
• Prepare layout plans, general arrangement drawings, grading plans, plan & profile diagrams, cross sections and drainage drawings.
• Ensure deliverables meet quality, time and budget constraints.
• Check draft work of juniors and CAD technicians.
• Plan, program and coordinate for allocated projects.
• Maintain client communications and document drawing records.
• Coordinate drawing production with all project disciplines.
• Understand design development and maintain drawings throughout the contract.
• Travel and other job demands.

Your Opportunity

Stantec is looking for a Senior CAD Designer that can be a part of our growing team in Pune office. Your Key Responsibilities

1. Produce drawings for road/highway projects, correctly interpret data and effectively communicate to others.
2. Preparation of Layout Plans, General Arrangement Drawings, Grading Plans, Plan & Profile Drawings, Cross Sections, Drainage Drawings, pipe network drawings, civil layouts, signage, and line marking plans, junction drawings, signal drawings, set out plans and all drawings required for the successful delivery of a road/highway project.
3. Ensure delivery of project deliverables in accordance with quality, timescales, and budget.
4. Check drafting work of Junior draftsmen and CAD technicians.
5. Plan, program, and coordinate for allocated projects.
6. Maintain communication and develop ongoing contacts with clients as required.
7. Maintain records of all design drawings/documents.
8. Coordinate drawing production with all other project disciplines both internal and external to Stantec.
9. Understand design development.
10. Maintain drawing files and records throughout the duration of contracts.

Your Capabilities and Credentials

1. Diploma in Civil Engineering or ITI Civil Draughtsman. B.E/B.Tech degree a plus.
2. Minimum 12 years’ professional experience in road/highway drafting after training.
3. Proficient in tools such as AutoCAD and MicroStation. Civil3D and/or OpenRoads and/or Inroads and/or12D experience is a plus.
4. Good knowledge of CAD standards and delivery procedures.
5. Ability to take directions from senior engineers and execute them efficiently.
6. Proficient in Microsoft (MS) Office Suite.
7. Effective communicator and able to work under tight schedule
8. Competent level of client service management, i.e.: able to interface with clients and to build and maintain lasting, positive relationships with our clients.
9. Ability to work collaboratively with all levels of staff, technical specialists.
10. Good written and verbal communication skills.

Education and Experience

1. Diploma in Civil Engineering or ITI Civil Draughtsman. B.E/B.Tech degree a plus.
2. Minimum 12 years’ professional experience in the consulting and engineering industry after training. MicroStation drafting experience on international roadway projects is a must.
3. Experience on international projects is a plus.
4. Software Skills: 5. AutoCAD and MicroStation. Knowledge of InRoads and/or Open Roads and/or Civil 3D and/or 12D is a plus.

• Knowledge of International CAD/BIM standards is a plus.
