Job summary

Stantec in Pune is seeking a Senior CAD Designer to support highway engineers and senior staff in delivering projects. You will assist with road design drawings and coordinate with project teams, ensuring quality and schedule adherence.

The ideal candidate has 12+ years of highway drafting experience, diploma or ITI in civil drafting, and strong CAD software skills including AutoCAD and MicroStation. Travel and collaboration with international teams are expected.

Qualifications

• Diploma or ITI in civil drafting required with 12+ years of highway drafting experience.
• Proficient in AutoCAD and MicroStation; knowledge of Civil3D/OpenRoads/InRoads/12D is a plus.
• Strong communication and client interface skills and ability to work under tight schedules.

Responsibilities

• Produce drawings for road/highway projects and interpret data.
• Prepare Layout Plans, General Arrangement Drawings, Grading Plans, and cross sections.
• Ensure timely delivery of project documents within quality and budget constraints.
• Review junior draftsmen CAD work and provide guidance.
• Coordinate drawing production with other project disciplines.
• Maintain drawing records and client communications.

Stantec is looking for a Senior CAD Designer that can be a part of our growing team in Pune office. Your Key Responsibilities

• Produce drawings for road/highway projects, correctly interpret data and effectively communicate to others.
• Preparation of Layout Plans, General Arrangement Drawings, Grading Plans, Plan & Profile Drawings, Cross Sections, Drainage Drawings, pipe network drawings, civil layouts, signage, and line marking plans, junction drawings, signal drawings, set out plans and all drawings required for the successful delivery of a road/highway project.
• Ensure delivery of project deliverables in accordance with quality, timescales, and budget.
• Check drafting work of Junior draftsmen and CAD technicians.
• Plan, program, and co-ordinate for allocated projects.
• Maintain communication and develop ongoing contacts with clients as required.
• Maintain records of all design drawings/documents.
• Coordinate drawing production with all other project disciplines both internal and external to Stantec.
• Understand design development.
• Maintain drawing files and records throughout the duration of contracts.

Your Capabilities and Credentials

• Diploma in Civil Engineering or ITI Civil Draughtsman. B.E/B.Tech degree a plus.
• Minimum 12 years’ professional experience in road/highway drafting after training.
• Proficient in tools such as AutoCAD and Micro Station. Civil3D and/or OpenRoads and/or Inroads and/or12D experience is a plus.
• Good knowledge of CAD standards and delivery procedures.
• Ability to take directions from senior engineers and execute them efficiently.
• Proficient in Microsoft (MS) Office Suite.
• Effective communicator and able to work under tight schedule
• Competent level of client service management, i.e.: able to interface with clients and to build and maintain lasting, positive relationships with our clients.
• Ability to work collaboratively with all levels of staff, technical specialists.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.

Education and Experience

• Diploma in Civil Engineering or ITI Civil Draughtsman. B.E/B.Tech degree a plus.
• Minimum 12 years’ professional experience in the consulting and engineering industry after training. MicroStation drafting experience on international roadway projects is a must.
• Experience on international projects is a plus.
• Software Skills: 5. AutoCAD and MicroStation. Knowledge of InRoads and/or Open Roads and/or Civil 3D and/or 12D is a plus.
• Knowledge of International CAD/BIM standards is a plus.
