Job summary

Stantec in Pune, India is seeking a Civil designer to join the Water group. The role supports project managers by providing civil design (CAD/BIM) in water and wastewater infrastructure, pumps, and stormwater systems, under guidance from a Project Engineer.

Essential qualifications include a BEng/MEng in Civil Engineering with 3–6 years of relevant experience, CAD/Civil3D proficiency, and knowledge of Hydraulics.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Technically lead and deliver the design of pumping stations, water, wastewater, and stormwater systems including detailed engineering

• Ensure the use of consistent design standards and best practices on projects in line with the technical direction of the discipline
• Developing excellence by ensuring project efficiencies are achieved

Stantecs Pune, India office is looking for a Civil designer to join our team and work in Water group.

The role is to support project managers/team leaders by providing civil design (CAD/BIM) support to ensure that project outcomes in terms of budget, schedule, technical and quality standards, meet both the client and STANTEC expectations. Design and documentation of projects under the instructions and guidance of a Project Engineer using Civil Engineering techniques utilizing software such as, but not limited to, Autodesk Civil3D, Infraworks and AutoCAD in accordance with Client standards and procedures.

Key Accountabilities:

• Engineering and civil design for Water / Wastewater projects, Stormwater projects

• Outline design / Optioneering

• Engineering and designing water and wastewater treatment plants (WTP and WWTP).

• Leading the technical delivery of various water/wastewater treatment projects.

• Detailed design

• Prepare technical reports

• Designing yard piping, pipe fittings, and connection details

• Designs related to hydrology and open channels

• Designing hydraulics for treatment units, associated piping/channels, and site drainage.

• Conducting outline design and optioneering.

• Very good knowledge and experience of hydraulics of Rising mains & Gravity Mains, stormwater management

• Experience of design of pipelines, Pipe fittings, connection details, pipeline renewal

• Design and layout of Pump stations, pipelines plans and profiles

• Need to work off-hours for client co-ordination

• Need to travel offshore for training/on-site work: Occasionally

• 3-6 years of relevant experience on working Civil engineering projects

• At least 3 years of experience of leading and managing Civil Engineering design projects. Experience of working for Middle East projects preferable

• Good knowledge of construction techniques and practices

• Flexible attitude to accept different work assignments.

• Health and Safety aspects in design

• Working experience of CAD and Civil3D

• Excellent data presentation abilities (MS Office)

• Ability to work in collaborative multi-disciplinary engineering environment

• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

• Ability to make decisions independently and strong problem resolutions skills.

• Good interpersonal skills
